Sap
is fluid transported in xylem cells . these cells transport water and
nutrients through the plant
There are two types of sap :
1. Xylem sap
2. Phloem sap
1. Xylem sap
it consists of primarily of watery solution of hormones and mineral
elements
Transport of sap of the xylem is characterized by movement from
the roots toward the leaves.
2. Phloem sap
consists primarily of sugars, hormones, and mineral elements
dissolved in water.
Phloem sap is thought to play a role in sending informational signals
throughout vascular plants. According to Annual Review of Plant
