Form Subject Topic Learning Objectives Learning Outcomes
: 4 Perdana : Physics : Forces and Pressure
Date Time
: 1 August 2011 : 9.15a.m 10.25 a.m
: Understanding Bernoullis Principle : At the end of this lesson students will able to; 1) State Bernoullis principle 2) Explain that a resultant force exists due to a difference in fluid pressure 3) Describe applications of Bernoullis principle
Educational Emphasis Instructional Aids
: Generating ideas, relating, sharing the information. : Marker, whiteboard , handouts, power point presentation, LCD projector, and computer. : Students have already learned about the definition of pressure, pressure in liquid and air pressure. : i) Chai T.Y, Shima W.F, Seng Y.K, Ragavan R., Roslina.(2005). Procedures: Stage Set Induction Learning and teaching activities Teacher recap previous lesson and ask questions. Teacher show video about the situation of an airoplane lift off. Teacher ask question about how the big and heavy machine can fly. Teacher ask a central guiding questions: How does the pressure in moving fluid relate to the speed of the fluid? (How does the speed of moving fluid affect the pressure in the fluid?) Teacher ask how is the movement of the tin cans/ paper strip? Form 2 groups First group: Students involve in activities. Student reaction Students respond to teachers questions
Lesson Development
Students respond to teachers questions
Show a bottle which has a strip of tissue in the bottles mouth. Ask student to blow hardly onto the bottles mouth. Second group: Teacher show 2 tin cans and ask student to predict which way the tin cans will move if they blow constantly between them. Ask students to predict, observe and explain. Students respon Debriefing teachers question Teacher ask student to conclude about the relationship between the speed of fluid and its pressure, and the existence of resultant force. Teacher shows examples of application of Bernoullis Principle
