R12 APPLICATION INSTALLATION

VMware Workstation version 7.0 This document provides the complete installation procedures of R12 Application installation using VMware Workstation. Host operating system is Windows 7 and Guest Operating system is Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.5. REQUIREMENTS  VMwareWorkstationversion7.0 http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/desktop_downloads/vmware_workstation/7_0  Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.5  Image Conversion software (Magic ISO)  Oracle R12 Application Software www. edelivery.oracle.com

STEP 1: Vmware Workstation installation If you double Click the VMware workstation Icon, then you will be prompted by the below figure.

Then installation workstation will come and click Next

Choose Setup type Typical and Click Next

Choose Vmware Installation Destination Folder and Click Next

Select the Shortcut you wish to place on your system and Click Next

Perform the Requested operation and Click Continue

Setup Wizard Completed Screen will come and Click Restart Later or you can choose your own

Then you will see the Vmware Workstation Front End screen will come.

STEP 2: TO CREATE A NEW VIRTUAL MACHINE Creating a New Virtual Machine By Clicking the New Virtual Machine in the Vmware Workstation Front End screen and Choose custom(advanced) type and Click Next

In the Guest Operating system installation screen choose Installer disk Image file (ISO): and Click Next

Choose your Virtual Machine Name and Click Next

Specify the Disk Capacity.Choose your own Disk space and Click Next

Ready to create Virtual Machine screen have the overall settings of your virtual machine and Click Finish

Then Hardware screen will come you can specify RAM size, Number of processors by clicking memory and processors in the left side top corner of the window and Click Ok

Select the device(CD/DVD ROM) if you want to add and adding a New Hardware Devices by Clicking the add button in the left side of Bottom in the window

Adding Network Adapter by clicking the add button in the left side of the window and select Network adapter and Click Next

Choose Network Adapter Type NAT and Click Finish

Select the USB controller and Click Enable and Automatic in the Right side Connections box and Click Ok.

Then you will see the VirtualMachine Screen

STEP 3: INSTALLATION OF RED-HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX 64 BIT IN THE VMWARE WORKSTATION Put you Red-hat Enterprise Linux 64 bit CD/DVD in the CD/DVD drive and wait for a movement the below screen will come. In our installation we are using ISO Image file instead of CD/DVD.

Hit Enter Key to prompt the below screen

Click Skip to the Next Screen

Click Next to continue to choose Language selection

Click Next to continue

Select approperiate keyboard for the system and Click Next. In the Hardisk partioning selection you can Choose Use free space on selected drives and Create Default Layout and Click Next to continue
