There were six hens and two roosters on the farm. One rooster had long green tail feathers while the other was short with brown, awkward feathers. The chicks from the winter were nearly grown. There were six hens and two roosters. All the hens
acted about the same. The roosters were very different. One was the perfect example of a rooster
with long green tail feathers. The other rooster was short with brown tail feathers that stuck out in
awkward lines.

The ugly rooster seemed to know he was ugly, because he was mean. He spent most of his time
bullying all the other chickens and his caretakers. To be happy, each rooster needs 10 hens. One of
the roosters needed to be slaughtered. The beautiful rooster was shy because he was bullied so often
by the ugly rooster. The ugly rooster was taken for supper.
