The cables are suitable for continuous operation at maximum conductor temperature of 70°C Specification PVC insulated, PVC sheathed armoured power cables meets the following cable specifications : Ms69 Specification for conductors in insulated cables and cords Ms 138 PVC insulation and sheath of electric cables M274 PVC insulated cables for electricity supply Construction The conductor comprise of circular / sectoral stranded & compacted plain annealed copper wites according to MS 69. The insulation material consists of a layer of extruded type TH pvc compound as per MS 138. The core identification is by coloured insulation PVC compound throughout the core length. For multicore cable, the cores shall be laid up with non-hygroscopic material as the filler and a layer of binder shall be applied over the laid up cores. The inner sheath shall consists ofa layer of extruded PVC compound applied over the binder around the laid up cores. For single core cable, the armouring shall consists of single layer of non-magnetic material such as aluminium wire, For multicore cable it shall consist of single layer of galvanized steel wite applied helically over the extruded inner sheathing. ‘The outer sheathing shall consist ofa layer of extruded type TMI pyc compound in accordance with MS 138.
