          We would like to inform you that we have introduced a                                production
          modified connecting rod bearing into serial production
          for the product family L+V 32/40 and L+V 32/40CD. As
          with the original bearing, this is also a bi-material plain                          DCI / 312 - January 2012
          bearing.

          As the main bearings and connecting rod bearings have
          the same diameter on in-line-engines, please note that
          bearings with markings -3663 and -3661 must not be
          used as main bearing shells.
          Recommendation
          Existing stocks of the previous series can further be
          used. These bearing shells should, however,
          preferentially be used for main bearings in L-type
          engines.

In the case of V-type engines, there is no risk of interchange as the main and connecting rod bearings
have different diameters.
The designation for the new bearing is:
•   Lower connecting rod bearing shell -3663
•   Upper connecting rod bearing shell -3661 (exchangeable exclusively as set)
    Please note:
    1.)   Do not install this bearing shells before checking the crankpin for probably already developed ridge
          wear.
    2.)   Please pay attention to the markings on the bearing shell and check correct numbers of the suitable
          opposite shell before installation.
