Scouring Process KSS

Scouring is a process used to remove natural and synthetic impurities from fibers. It involves extracting, emulsifying, and saponifying contaminants using chemicals like sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate, or enzymes. The objectives of scouring are to remove all types of impurities, reduce hydrophobicity, and increase absorbency of fibers for downstream processes. Key factors that affect scouring include the type, color, cleanliness, twist, count, and construction of the fabric being processed.
