Shampoo is a hair care  product, typically in the form of a viscous  liquid, that is used

for cleaning hair . Less commonly, shampoo is available in solid bar format. Shampoo is used

by applying it to wet hair, massaging the product into the scalp, and then rinsing it out. Some

users may follow a shampooing with the use of hair conditioner .Shampoo is typically used to

remove the unwanted build-up of sebum in the hair without stripping out so much as to make

hair unmanageable. Shampoo is generally made by combining a surfactant , most often

sodium lauryl sulfate  or sodium laurate sulfate , with a co-surfactant, most

often cocamidopropyl betaine  in water. The sulfate  ingredient acts as a surfactant , trapping

oils and other contaminants, similarly to soap . There are many beneficial features of

shampoo. Another way the importance of shampoo is demonstrated is in the treatment of

various scalp and hair  conditions that cannot be treated with the use of ordinary soap or

water. For instance, dandruff is caused by dry hair  and one of the obvious signs of dandruff

is itching of the scalp with dry (whitish and brownish) flakes.

Shampoo can be used in treating hair affected by dandruff as well as other conditions

like seborrhoeic dermatitis (inflammation) etc. Nowadays, there are specific shampoo

formulations  that have been created specifically for the treatment of dandruff including those

that are made with only organic ingredients. In relation to this, the researcher discover a new

and organic shampoo as a substitute for commercial hair shampoo, that provide same quality

and comfort to hair. Guava fruit is a rich source of vitamin A which supports hair growth.

The fruit also promotes scalp health, clears dandruff and protects against hair loss. This

makes it one of the important fruits for hair growth.

According to Patricia Bianca Taculao (2021) Among the many fruits that grow in the

Philippines, a favorite of many is the guava (Psidium guajava Linn.), locally known as

bayabas. It is known for its sweet exotic flavor when ripe as well as the various health

benefits of its leaves. The Guava fruit which has packed of vitamins and nutrients,

including Vitamin B2, Vitamin C, Potassium, dietary fiber, Vitamin A and lycopene, all of

which are essential for healthy hair growth .In fact, the Guava fruit contains more Vitamin C

than an orange. There is a great opportunity to make products with less synthetic ingredients,

which benefits health, the economy, and the environment. Another benefit to using Guava

leaves is that they are 100 percent natural. These natural ingredients provide the hair and

scalp with necessary nutrients to build a solid foundation for healthy hair growth over the

long term.

Though no one is certain, guavas are believed to have originated in Mexico or slightly

further South in Central America according to Alan Davidson in the Oxford Companion to

Food. Another expert source, Elizabeth Schneider, writes that they are native to Brazil at any

rate, they now flourish throughout the tropical world and are an extremely common backyard

fruit in the Philippines. Psidium guajava L. (guava), a fruit plant belonging to the family

Myrtaceae, is found all over the world

According to Dr. Kalpana Patidar (2018) Antioxidants are helpful in increasing the

blood circulation and thus help in hair growth as well as in the treatment of diseases.

Alopecia is a dermatological disorder with psychosocial implications on patients with hair
