7 Education Essential
qualification
Master’s Degree in relevant subject or
BE/B.Tech or 2 years PG Diploma in
Management or MBBS or LLB or CA or ICWA or
possessing any Professional Degree earned after
a study of 4 years or more acquired after 10+2.
Desirable
Masters’/Higher Qualification in Social
Sciences/Humanities/Education/related subjects.
8 Experience Work experience:
Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in
Government, reputed Governmental Organizations,
International development agencies and Research
Organizations in relevant areas.
The applicants who have worked in rural
areas or smaller towns/cities are
encouraged to apply.
Weightage will be given to candidates who
have worked in rural areas or smaller
towns/cities (towns/cities with population of
less than 1 Million as per 2011 Census) at
the stage of shortlisting of candidates for
the interview.
(The experience of internship/training will not be
considered)
9 Job description
He/ she will be responsible for the policy
formulation and long term strategy relating to
Pre-primary, elementary, secondary, senior
secondary, higher, technical, teacher education
and adult literacy, areas of special focus such as
education for girls, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes, Minorities and also Children with Special
Needs, Sustainable Action for Transforming
Human Capital in Education (SATH-E) Project etc.
Undertaking and/ or managing policy research,
and evidence-based analysis; organizing
meetings and workshops; sharing knowledge,
experience and best practices; building
consensus among stake holders, and advocacy
towards reforms in the field, analyse and provide
inputs in respect of various Cabinet Notes,
SFC/EFC Notes and any other issues received
from line Ministries. He/she will also responsible
for all matters relating to Ministry of Human
Resource, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and
coordinating NITI Aayog's work mandate on SDG
and any other matter assigned by the superiors
The terms and conditions of engagement of the Sr. Consultant
(Education) will be according to the NITI Guidelines O.M. no. A-
12013/02/2015-Adm. I(B) dated 07.12.2021. The Guidelines are placed on
NITI Aayog’s website www.niti.gov.in. Further it is mentioned that the no. of
positions for Sr. Consultant (Education) may vary and are tentative.
