The document provides instructions and examples for calculating costs for tour packages. The first example shows how to calculate the tour operator's net cost by applying a 10% markup percentage to the net cost of PHP30,000. The second example demonstrates how to calculate the prorated cost per passenger by dividing the total van cost of PHP5,000 by the predetermined number of 9 passengers.

Instructions
Instructions: Practice applying the correct methods and formula in pricing a tour package. Have
your output in a Word document and upload your solution for each problem.

1. The Palawan package that ABC Tours came up with has a net cost of PHP30,000. If their
desired mark-up percentage is 10%, how much would be ABC Tours’ total net cost?
Formula: Net cost X Desired mark-up percentage = Mark-up + Net cost = TO’s Net
Solution:
PHP30,000 X 0.1 = PHP3,000
PHP3,000 + PHP30,000 = PHP33,000
Tour Operator’s net = PHP33,000

2. If a van costs PHP5,000 per unit and can load a maximum of 14 passengers with a pre-
determined number of nine (9) passengers, how much would be the prorated cost?
Formula: Total cost of the Vehicle ÷ Pre-determined number of passengers = Prorated cost
Solution:
PHP5,000 ÷ 9 = PHP556
Prorated cost = PHP556
