WHY REPAIR & REHABILITATION

The deterioration of Reinforced Concrete structures is recognised as a major problem world- wide. Over Time, as
buildings and structures become older, we find in them certain degradation or deterioration with resultant distress
manifested in the form of cracking, splitting, delaminating, corrosion, etc. Consequently, the need for repair and
rehabilitation has grown considerably in recent years. It has been adopted for the restoration of buildings and structures
that are damaged or deteriorated. It is also used to modify a structure to meet new functional requirements.

Addressing these issues, the Indian Concrete Institute, Pune Centre is organising CEMCON 2023 on the theme of Repair
and Rehabilitation. The conference will comprise industry experts who will share their experience on different aspects
such as distress and damage assessment and suitable repair techniques, materials for repair and rehabilitation etc. The
future of repair and rehabilitation in the construction industry in India is promising with opportunities in the civil
