BACKGROUND
The school had built a new classroom block which needs tiling. The school administrators need to know
the number of tiles needed for each classroom such that they can purchase enough tiles. To solve the
problem, we need to find out the actual number of tiles required.
DESCRIPTION
We want to know the number of tiles needed to cover one classroom.
1. Measure the length and width of the classroom. (2)
2. Calculate the area of the classroom (2)
3. Collect data on dimensions of tiles (2)
4. Calculate area covered by one tile (2)
5. Calculate the number of tiles needed to cover the classroom (2)
