PRODUCT MIX

It means set of all product and items offered by a firm for a sale in the market It consist of several product line and product item. Will have one or more product line. Product line is a group of product that share common features a used consumer distribution channel

FOUR IMPORTANT PART OF PRODUCT MIX


WIDTH: Product mix width refers to the number of different product lines the company carries. For example, Procter & Gamble markets a fairly wide product mix consisting of many product lines, including paper, food, household cleaning ,medicinal, cosmetics ,and personal care products. LENGTH: Product mix length refers to the total number of items the company carries within its product lines. P&G typically carries many brands within each line. For example, it sells eight laundry detergents, six hand soaps, six shammpoos, and four diswashing detergents. DEPTH: Product line depth refers to the number of versions offered of each product in the line. Thus, P&G Crest toothpaste comes in three sizes and two formulations (paste and gel). CONSISTENCY: Consistency refers to how closely a companys product lines are related in terms of:
End use, Methods of distribution and production Target market(s), Price range If they are closely related on any one of these factors, the product mix is said to be consistent
