BISMILLAH AR-REHMAN NIR RAHEEM
INNAL LAAHA WA MALAIKATAHU YU
SALLOONA ALAN NABI,
YAA AYUHAL LAZINA AAMANU SALU ALAIHI
WA SALIMMU TASLIMA
ت اَأْل ْس َرا ُر
ِ ش َّق
َ صل ِّ َع َل ٰى َمنْ ِم ْن ُه ا ْن
َ ال َّل ُه َّم
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā man
minhu n-shaqqati l-asrār(u)
O Allah, send prayers upon the one from whom
the spiritual secrets were sundered,
ت اَأْل ْن َوا ُر
ِ َوا ْن َف َل َق
Wa-n-falaqati l-anwār(u)
and from whom the lights burst forth,
ُ ت ا ْلح َق
اِئق ِ َوفِي ِه ْار َت َق
Wa fīhi r-taqati l-ḥaqā'iq(u)
and in whom the ultimate realities arose.
ِ َو َت َن َّز َل ْت ُعلُو ُم آدَ َم َفَأ ْع َج َز ا ْل َخاَل
ِئق
Wa tanazzalat ʿulūmu Ādama fa-aʿjaza-l-
khalā'iq(i)

The one in whom descended the knowledge of
Adam and thus stymied all of creation,
َ ت ا ْلفُ ُهو ُم َف َل ْم ُيدْ ِر ْك ُه ِم َّنا
س ِاب ٌق َواَل اَل ح ٌِق ِ اء َل
َ ضَ َو َل ُه َت
Wa lahu taḍā'alati l-fuhūmu fa-lam yudrik-hu
minna sābiqun Wa lā lāḥiq(un)
and before whom all understandings dwindled,
thus none of us before or after has ever realised
his true essence and none of us ever will.
ت ِب َزهْ ِر َج َمالِ ِه ُمو ِن َق ٌة ُ َف ِر َي
ِ اض ا ْل َم َل ُكو
fa-riyāḍu l-malakūti bi-zahri jamālihi
mūniqah(tun)
The gardens of the dominion (malakut) are fair
with the flowering of his resplendent beauty,
ض َأ ْن َو ِار ِه ُم َتدَ ِّف َق ٌة
ِ ت ِب َف ْي
ِ اض ا ْل َج َب ُرو
ُ َو ِح َي
Wa ḥiyāḍu l-jabarūti bi-fayḍi anwārihi
mutadaffiqah(tun)
and the pools of the omnipotence(jabarut) pour
forth through his ever-flowing illuminations.
ش ْي َء ِإاَّل َوه َُو ِب ِه َم ُنو ٌط
َ َواَل
Wa lā shay'a illā Wa huWa bihi manūṭ(un)

And there is nothing except that it is conditioned
by him,
سو ُط َ ِإ ْذ َل ْواَل ا ْل َواسِ َط ُة َل َذه
ُ َب َك َما قِيل َ ا ْل َم ْو
idh lawla l-wāsiṭatu la-dhahaba kamā qīla l-
mawsūṭ(u)
since if not for the means, the end — as has
been said — would have gone.
ِيق ِب َك ِم ْن َك ِإ َل ْي ِه َك َما ه َُو َأهْ لُ ُه
yُ صاَل ًة َتل
َ
ṣalātan talīqu bika minka ilayhi kamā huWa
ahluh(u)
Send upon him such a prayer that truly befits
You — from You unto him as is deserving to him.
اَل َّل ُه َّم ِإ َّن ُه سِ ُّر َك ا ْل َجا ِم ُع الدَّال ُّ َع َل ْي َك
Allāhumma innahu sirruka l-
jāmiʿud-dallu ʿalayk(a)
O Allah, indeed, he is Your all-embracing secret,
the guide unto You,
َوح َِجا ُب َك اَأْل ْع َظ ُم ا ْل َقاِئ ُم َل َك َب ْينَ َيدَ ْي َك
Wa ḥijābuka l-aʿẓamu l-qā'imu laka bayna
yadayk(a)

and Your Supreme Sentinel standing for You,
before You.
َ اَل َّل ُه َّم َأ ْل ِح ْقنِي ِب َن
س ِب ِه
Allāhumma alḥiqni bi-nasabih(i)
O Allah! Connect me with his lineage,
َ َو َح ِّق ْقنِي ِب َح
س ِب ِه
Wa ḥaqqiqnī bi-ḥasabih(i)
realise me through his excellence,
َو َع ِّر ْفنِي ِإ َّياهُ َم ْع ِر َف ًة َأ ْس َل ُم ِب َها مِنْ َم َو ِار ِد ا ْل َج ْه ِل
Wa ʿarrifnī iyyāhu maʿrifatan aslamu bihā min
mawāridi l-jahl(i)
grant me knowledge of him — knowledge
through which I attain salvation from the streams
of ignorance,
ْ َوَأ ْك َر ُع ِب َها مِنْ َم َو ِار ِد ا ْل َف
ض ِل
Wa akraʿu bihā min mawāridi-l-faḍl(i)
and by which I may sip from the streams of
bounty.
ْ س ِبيلِ ِه ِإ َل ٰى َح
ض َر ِت َك ٰ اح ِم ْلنِي َع
َ لى ْ َو
Wa-ḥmilnī ʿalā sabīlihi ilā ḥaḍratik(a)

And carry me on his path unto Your Divine
Presence —
ْ َح ْماًل َم ْحفُو ًفا ِب ُن
ص َر ِت َك
ḥamlan maḥfūfan bi-nuṣratik(a)
with a carrying surrounded by Your aid.
ِف ِبي َع َلى ا ْل َباطِ ِل َفَأدْ َم َغ ُه
ْ َوا ْقذ
Wa-qdhif bī ʿala l-bāṭili fa-admaghah(u)
And hurl me against falsehood so I smash it,
ار اَأْل َح ِد َّي ِة
ِ َو ُز َّج ِبي فِي ِب َح
Wa zujja bī fī biḥāri l-aḥadiyyah(ti)
and plunge me into the seas of Absolute
Oneness,
ِ مِنْ َأ ْو َحyش ْل ِني
ال ال َّت ْوحِي ِد ُ َوا ْن
Wa-nshulnī min awḥāli t-tawhīd(i)
and pluck me from the mires of affirming unity,
َوَأ ْغ ِر ْقنِي فِي َع ْي ِن َب ْح ِر ا ْل َو ْحدَ ِة
Wa aghriqnī fī ʿayni baḥri l-Waḥdah(ti)
and drown me in the centre of the sea of
oneness

َّ َح َّت ٰى اَل َأ َر ٰى َواَل َأ ْس َم َع َواَل َأ ِجدَ َواَل ُأح
ِس ِإاَّل ِب َها
hattā lā arā Wa lā asmaʿa Wa lā ajida Wa lā
uḥissa illā bihā
until I neither see nor hear nor find nor sense
anything but by it.
اب اَأْل ْع َظ َم َح َيا َة ُروحِي
َ اج َع ِل ا ْلح َِج
ْ َو
Wa-jʿali l-ḥijāba l-aʿẓama ḥayāta rūḥi
O Allah! Make the Supreme Sentinel the life of
my spirit,
وح ُه سِ َّر َحقِي َقتِي
َ َو ُر
Wa rūḥahu sirra ḥaqīqatī
and make his spirit the secret of my reality,
ِيق ا ْل َح ِّق اَأْل َّو ِل
ِ َو َحقِي َق َت ُه َجام َِع َع َوالِمِي ِب َت ْحق
Wa ḥaqīqatahu jāmiʿa ʿawālimī bi-taḥqīqi l-ḥaqqi
l-awWal(i)
and make his reality the connector of my realms,
by the realisation of the first truth.
َُيا َأ َّول ُ َيا آ ِخ ُر َيا َظا ِه ُر َيا َباطِ ن
Yā AwWalu Yā Ākhiru Yā Ẓāhiru Yā Bāṭin(u)
O First! O Last! O OutWard! O InWard!

آء َع ْب ِد َك َز َك ِر َّيا
َ َسم ِْع َت ِب ِه نِد
َ ا ِْس َم ْع نِدآِئي ِب َما
ismaʿ nidā'i bimā samiʿta bihi nidā'a ʿabdika
Zakariyyā
Hear my plea as You heard the plea of Your
servant Zakariyya.
ِب َك َل َكyص ْر ِني
ُ َوا ْن
Wa-nṣurni bika lak(a)
And grant me victory through You and for You,
َوَأ ِّيدْ نِي ِب َك َل َك
Wa ayyidni bika lak(a)
and aid me through You and for You,
اج َم ْع َب ْينِي َو َب ْي َن َك
ْ َو
Wa-jmaʿ baynī Wa baynak(a)
and join me and You,
َو ُحلْ َب ْينِي َو َب ْينَ َغ ْي ِر َك
Wa ḥul baynī Wa bayna ghayrik(a)
and come between me and other than You.
هللا هللا هللا
Allāāāh Allāāāh Allāāāh

Allah, Allah, Allah!
ض َع َل ْي َك ا ْلقُ ْرآنَ َل َرا ُّد َك ِإ َل ٰى َم َعا ٍد
َ ِإنَّ ا َّلذِي َف َر
Inna lladhī faraḍa ʿalayka l-qur'āna la-radduka ilā
maʿād
Verily the One who has enjoined the Quran upon
you shall most certainly bring you back to a
return. (28:85).
َ َر َّب َنا آ ِت َنا مِن َّل ُد ْن َك َر ْح َم ًة َو َهيِّْئ َل َنا مِنْ َأ ْم ِر َنا َر
شدًا
Rabbanā ātinā min ladunka raḥmatan Wa-hayyi'
lanā min amrinā rashada
O our Lord! Grant us a mercy from You, and
grant us rectitude in our affair. (18:10)
َ ِإنَّ هَّللا َ َو َماَل ِئ َك َت ُه ُي
صلُّونَ َع َلى ال َّن ِب ِّي
Inna Llāha Wa-malā'ikatahu yuṣallūna ʿala N-
Nabiyyi
Indeed, Allah and His angels send prayers upon the
Prophet.
س ِّل ُموا َت ْسلِي ًما َ َيا َأ ُّي َها ا َّلذِينَ آ َم ُنوا
َ صلُّوا َع َل ْي ِه َو
Yā ayyuha lladhīna āmanū ṣallū ʿalayhi Wa sallimū
taslīma
O you who believe! Send prayers and abundant
salutations upon him! (33:56)
