is and are -are used in the present tense

was and were - are used in past tense

To form a sentence we need
to have subject, verb and
object or also known as SVO

A sentence must have subject,
verb and object but the object is
replaced with adverb
compliment

What is adverb compliment ?


- Required to complete the
meaning of the verb. There for
if it was removed, then the
sentence will be incomplete.

What is linking verb ?


- includes the five sense verbs
(smell, hear, touch, see and feel)
