- The different types of drugs are Herbal drugs, which use the roots, stems,
leaves, flowers, or seeds of plants to improve health, prevent disease, and
treat illness, Prescription drugs, which can only be obtained with a physician's
prescription, Over-the-counter medicine, also known as OTC or
nonprescription medicine, which you can buy without a prescription.
Unrecognized drugs, which are not generally subject to legal regulation, Illegal
drugs, also known as "street drugs". Tobacco is a plant whose leaves contain
high levels of the addictive chemical nicotine, and Alcohol is a drink containing
ethanol, a type of alcohol that acts as a drug and is produced by fermentation
of grains, fruits, or other sugar sources.
2. What are the Medical Uses of Drugs?
- The Medical Uses of Drugs are Analgesic, Antibiotics, Antipyretics,
Antihistamines, Contraceptives, Decongestant, Expectorants, Laxatives,
Sedatives and Tranquilizers, and Vitamins. This medicines are chemicals or
compounds that are used to treat, stop, or prevent disease, help ease
symptoms, or aid in the diagnosis of illnesses.
3. Enumerate the types of depressant drugs?
- The types of depressant drugs are Narcotics, Opium, Morphine, Heroin,
Codeine, Paregoric, Demerol and Methadone, Barbiturates, Seconal,
Tranquilizers, Volatile Solvent, Alcohol.
4. Discuss the abuse of drugs.
- Drug abuse is defined as the inappropriate use of legal or illegal
substances. You could take extra pills or use someone else's prescription.
You may use drugs to make yourself feel better, to relieve stress, or to escape
reality. However, they are side effects of drug abuse, they can change your
mood, performance at school and work, change your physical appearance,
and it could lead to stealing. You can usually change your bad habits or
completely stop using them.
5. What are the preventive measures for drug abuse?
- The preventive measures for drug abuse are, investing time for yourself find
a new hobby, engage in mindfulness activities like meditation, live a healthy
well-balanced life, educate yourself about the risks, health and legal
consequences, and other information about drug use will provide many
people with a stronger reason for avoiding drugs, practice abstinence, learn
coping mechanisms, develop close family ties, and lastly, is don’t give in to
peer pressure even your close friends inviting you to do drugs, don't agree to
them, because you know the best thing to do.
