Every country has each own unique history and traditions, which may be
interesting and charming to the tourists. Today we will travel and observe Georgia
and its culture.
Georgia is a country located in the Caucasus, at the intersection of Eastern
Europe and Western Asia, which probably makes it unique. Of course before
visiting places it would be more right to tell legend about country itself.
Georgia is a country of legends. Its legends and myths have mainly been
preserved as famous tales. Let’s discuss one of them: After creating the world,
God gathered all the nations and decided to divide the country for them. The
Georgians were late for this gathering because at that time they were praising
God and drinking his toast. When they came to God, God announced that they
would already share the world. The Georgians reported the reason for the delay
as they delayed his glorious toast. When God heard this, he told them that from
now on they would settle in a place reserved for him. This is how Georgians found
themselves in the small part of paradise that God gave them. Without doubts, it’s
just a legend, but more important is how proud are of this legend Georgian
people.
If you are in Georgia, perhaps it would be better to start your journey in Tbilisi.
Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura
River with a population of approximately 1.5 million people. Tbilisi was founded in
the 5th century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the
capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Here you can meet adorable
places and hospitable people. Mostly in Tbilisi we recommend visiting old part of
the city, which is called old Tbilisi. Old Tbilisi is home to most of the sights of Tbilisi
and, consequently, is the main center of tourist attraction. This area is
distinguished by Abanotubani - the sulfur baths still operating today. Also with
churches and museums, Sharden Street , where popular restaurants, open-air
cafes and bars, nightclubs, galleries and more are located. Another main charm of
Old Tbilisi is the architecture - old shopping streets, wooden carved houses and
balconies.
Also I would recommend visiting mount mtatsminda. You go up the mountain on
the funicular and go in direction of the quite big amusement park with where you
find many attractions like in other parks. There is restaurant up and some of the
amusements there, from where opens beautiful view of the city.
Another place to visit should definitely be Kakheti, where Georgian wine is
produced. In Kakheti you can relax and have a good time in different resorts as
Chateau Mossier Hotel & Winery, Park Hotel Tsinandali Estate and others.
Next place to visit should be mountain area of Georgia, for instance: Kazbegi.
Kazbegi is awesome place to enjoy weekends on the fresh air. In kazbegi you can
relax in hotel and be pleased by amazing views and also, catch the adrenalin and
another big amount of emotions by taking up paragliding.
The last place in this report takes Adjara, especially Batumi which is mostly
popular on summer season, because of the sea and wonderful sunsets. There you
can busy yourself with sunbathing, exploring places or enjoying generally
traditional Georgian or the local meals, for example: adjarian khachapuri and so
on. Georgia has amazing places and to visit all of them we don’t have enough
time, but on this note our humble adventure ends.
