SPAN CALIBRATION FOR CASTON III


(You must use FULL scale capacity with these instructions.)

1. Make sure that the battery is fully charged and that the MAIN POWER SWITCH is in the OFF
position. Open the rear access door of the scale and plug in the battery connector into the battery
jack in the back of the scale making sure that it is securely fastened.

2. Flip the MAIN POWER SWITCH to the ON position.

3. Find the CALIBRATION PORT SEALING BOLT and remove it. You will see a red PUSH BUTTON
MICRO SWITCH. This is SW#1 Push and hold down SW#1 as you turn ON the scale by pressing
the ON key on the front of the scale.

4. Once the display shows “CAL”, release SW#1. “CAL” will flash 3 times and then the display will
scroll “OFF=rEmotE-Con-SEt ZErO=E-rESoLUtion tArE=SPAn-rESoLUtion HOLd=SEt”
continuously. This is the MAIN MENU.

5. Press the HOLD key repeatedly until the display reads “ULOAd”. Make sure that all shackles,
hooks, and other fastening paraphernalia is properly attached and secured. Also, make sure that the
scale is properly suspended and that there is no load on the load-receiving hook.

6. Press the HOLD key. The display will then show “StbLE”, count down from 9 to 1 and then show
“LOAd”.

7. Once the display reads “LOAd”, load the weight (MAX capacity) on the hook, and then press the HOLD
key.

8. The display will show “StbLE”, count down from 9 to 1 and then show “End”, and then go back to
scrolling the MAIN MENU.

9. Remove the load from the hook and then press SW#1 on the back of the scale. Replace the calibration
bolt, close the rear door of the scale.

10. Test the accuracy of the scale.

A) If scale is NOT 100% accurate, repeat steps 1 to 10.

B) If scale IS 100% accurate then you are done.
