Reliability and Validity: For the total score, an internal consistency of .89 and a test-retest reliability
of .85. The APS consisted of (8) 5-point sale items. This 5-point scale assessment was carried out by
Carson Birchmeier, Emily Grattan, Sarah Hornbacher, and Christopher McGregory of Saginaw Valley
State University. For researchers who have a particular interest in academic performance among
students, the APS promises to be useful tool. Scale scores showed adequate internal consistency, 2
weeks test-retest reliability, and satisfactory concurrent validity.
