 1 syllable adjective: + ER [colder, hotter, faster]

 2 syllable adjective ending in -y: delete the -y and + IER [busier, happier, noisier]
 Other 2 or3 syllable adjective: MORE + adjective [more tired, more crowded, more
difficult]
 Irregular: Good-better, Bad-worse
