Community Engagement Lesson Plan

This document outlines a detailed lesson plan for a Grade 12 lesson on community engagement, solidarity, and citizenship. The lesson aims to differentiate typologies of communities and explain the relationship between local and global communities. Students will learn that local communities involve close social integration and physical proximity, while global communities connect nations through modern technology. An introductory activity and picture clues will activate prior knowledge. A lecture and discussion will define and distinguish local and global communities. Students will then complete a true/false quiz and write an essay applying the concepts. The lesson concludes with reflecting on how community builds individual personality.
