J: Hello. I see you’re new to our organization. I’ve been a member for nearly three years now. Why

At the moment, I would really like to do voluntary work twice a week. After some time, it is very
likely that I can spend more time here once I had finished my degree in Teaching.
b) You have just joined a book club where you meet a girl.
Hi, I am Claire. I have heard you are a new member of our club. I have been a member for about 4
months after a friend gave me an annual membership gift. Why did you join? Use 30 to 40 words per
answer.

C: How do you feel about the club?
I’m very enthusiastic as there are extraordinary people who have a deep knowledge about a wide
range of books. I would dare to say that this is the best club in our city.

of books in huge shelves. Moreover, it has been painted with original colours, which create a very
relaxing atmosphere.

member. Use 30 to 40 words per answer.
Mario: Hi! I see you are a new here. I joined a few years ago because practising sports is my
favourite leisure activity and this centre offers a wide variety of sports. Why did you decide to join?
Hi, I am Mike. I am also keen on sports and I was recommended this club y a friend who works out
here. The facilities are impressive, which is something essential to me and people are very friendly
as well.
Mario: what do you think about personal trainers?
I think that trainers are very professional. People can book extra classes as well in case that they need
to go the extra mile. I wouldn’t know how to learn new strategies and techniques without their help.
Mario:; how do you feel about the fact that there are more people in the sports club now?
Well, I consider that there is room enough for everyone. The sports centre is open 24 hours, which is
a huge advantage. Rarely have I seen such a well-organized club! If I had any incident, I would let

enrol this course. Apart from that, I was recommended this language by a classmate who studied
here a few months ago.
Frank: What do you think about the course?

At first, I had my doubts but now I know they are excellent teachers that have a deep knowledge

Cynthia: Hi! I see you’re new here. I joined a year ago after I started living alone. Why did you join?

cook. Besides, I was recommended this website by a close friend who encouraged me to give it a
chance.
Cynthia: What do you think about the service?
I reckon this service is excellent since there is a wide range of food and I can try different flavours.
Moreover, delivery men are quite kind. I would dare to say that this service is the best in our city.
Cynthia: How do you feel about the recent rise in the price of pizzas? It was 20% cheaper before.
I feel pretty annoyed because of I usually used too/tended to order pizza with my friends every
weekend and now this isn’t possible. However, the menu is varied and we can eat hamburgers

as its consequences in our planet. From my point of view, if we join forces, we can change our
situation.
Mike: What do you think about the organisation of the forum?
To my mind, everything is explained clearly as members tend to provide some advice about multiple
topics related to nature, animals and how to prevent or reduce air, water and land pollution. Also, I
really like our weekly meetings.
Mike: How do you feel about the fact that no meetings are going to be held this month?
To be honest, I feel a bit disappointed as we won’t carry out our project. I think we may be able to do
it next month. Rarely do we hold similar events and this is something very important to me.

PARTE 4
solucionarlo.
a) You are a new member of a voluntary association which aims to help older people. On your last visit
to their website you saw the notice below.
Dear valued members,
We are sorry to inform you that form next month we have to ask you for a little aid. This means to
support our organization with a monthly fee of 10$ for elderlies activities and excursions, that will
take place on the 20th of December. We know that, perhaps, not all of you are willing for his
sacrifice, however the association has thought about a reward for all of its members.
Write an email to a friend who also is a member of this association. Write your feelings about the
notice and suggest possible alternatives. Write about 50 words.
Hi Mary,
I feel quite upset since we have been made to pay 10$ per month by our voluntary organisation. As
many people can’t afford this, I have been thinking about different ways to raise funds like making
donations through the website, what do you think?
Love,
Lola
Now, write an email to the voluntary organisation, explaining your feelings about the notice and
suggesting possible alternatives. Write 120-150 words.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having read the notice on the website, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction concerning the
monthly fee as many volunteers who are students (including myself) cannot afford to pay this amount
every month.
Therefore, I would like to suggest a potential alternative with the intention to raise funds in order to
carry out different types of activities as well as excursions. This alternative could consist of creating
a specific section which allows people to make donations through the website.
On the other hand, volunteers could distribute leaflets in the street with the aim of promoting our
organisation. It is known that our associations is popular in our city and personally, I would not
know what to do if I could not participate as a member.
Please, feel free to contact me to discuss this issue. Thanks in advanced.
Yours faithfully,
Lola Lopez.
b) There is an incident at the book club and you need to face this situation:
Dear members,
We are sorry to tell you that form next month membership fees will go up by 20% also, we are
renovating the club meeting room and during the next month cub meetings will be held in the back
room of the bookshop every Friday from 16:00 to 18:00.
Please feel free to email us at office@bookclub.com
Write an email to a friend who also is a member of this club. Write your feelings and suggest
possible alternatives. Write about 50 words.
Hi Mary,
I feel quite upset because there has been an increase in the club monthly fee. Therefore, I can’t
afford it. I have been thinking about different options and I reckon that our club should offer
discounts to members who are students like us.
Love,
Lidia.

c) You are a member of the sports club. On your last visit to their website you saw this notice.
Dear members,
The basketball training will be cancelled for a week because the personal trainer is on holiday. Sorry
for the inconvenience.
The Manager
Write an e-mail to a friend who also belongs to your basketball team. Write your feelings about the
message you received and suggest possible alternatives. Write about 50 words.
Hi José,
I am writing to let you know that we won’t be able to train next week as our coach is on annual
leave, which is very disappointing. However, I am thinking about booking the court and train on our
own. Do you agree?
Best,
Mike.
Now, write an email to the management, explaining your feelings about the change and suggesting
possible alternatives. Write about 120-150 words.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having read the last notice about the cancellation of the basketball training, I am writing to express
my dissatisfaction. Next month, a competition will be held and we need to train as much as possible.
Firstly, I thought that we would be training with another coach while Peter is on annual leave but as
far as I am concerned nobody is available.
Secondly, it would be great if we could be allowed to book a court and train ourselves. I would not
know what to do if we could not train as we have been waiting for a long time and we are eager to
win!
Lastly, I would like to thank you for your time. Please, do not hesitate to contact me in case that you
find an alternative option, which will be highly regarded.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Hall.

d) You are studying a French course. After your last lesson you saw the notice below:
Dear students,

suggestions, please feel free to email us at studentsupport@french.com
Write an e-mail to a fellow-student explaining what has happened. Write your feelings about the
message you received and suggest possible alternatives. Write about 50 words.
Hi Charlie,
I feel quite annoyed because our class schedule has been rescheduled. The point is that I need to
attend university and I won’t be able to get the language school on time. Maybe I could suggest
other times. What would you do in my situation?
Love,
Rose.
Now, write an email to the language school management, showing your disagreement with the
situation and asking for solutions and compensations. Write about 120-150 words.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having read the last notice about the new class schedule, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction.
The reason of this is that I need to attend university in the morning.
On the one hand, I was made to pay the complete course fee in advanced, which I did. Now, I cannot
attend and this is completely unfair to me.
On the other hand, it would be great if I could join another French group as I am really interested in
passing my final exam. Otherwise, I would request a refund of payment made although I would
prefer not to do it.
Lastly, I would like to thank you for your time. Please, do not hesitate to contact me in case that you
find a solution or an alternative option, which will be highly regarded.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Rose Peter.
e) You are a member of a website to make online orders. On your last visit to their website you saw the
notice below.
Dear valued customers,
We are sorry to inform you that from next month we have to introduce a fee for the meals’ delivery.
It will constitute 15% of the meal order. We need to reduce the high costs involved in delivering the
meals. If you have any comments or suggestions, please, feel free to email us at
customer.service@onlinemeals.com
Write an e-mail to a friend. Write your feelings about the notice and make possible alternatives.
Hi Cathy,
I feel pretty upset due to the meal delivery service is going to increase their prices and I am unwilling
to pay that cost. I consider the company should take into account the members who tend to order
meals every day and offer discounts to them.
Love,
Rachel.
Now write an email to the customer service, explaining your feelings about the notice and suggesting
possible alternatives. Write 120-150 words.
Now write an email to the customer service, explaining your feelings about the notice and suggesting
possible alternatives. Write 120-150 words.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having read the website, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction concerning the new delivery fee.
I tend to order food every day and I cannot pay the new price. I spent most of the time at work so
that is the reason why I love ordering food while I am at the office. However, if you increase your
prices, I think that you will lose many customers.
Personally, I would prefer not to change my habits but if I cannot afford your service, I would have
to make orders on different restaurants.
Making discounts for those people who usually buy your products would be a potential solution.
These discounts could be sent via mail. It would be great if you could take into account your
customers’ needs and opinions. Thank you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Rachel Adams.
f) You are a member of an environmental association and you see this notice on the website:
Dear members,
We are sorry to inform you that next month’s meetings have been cancelled due to the indisposition
of our staff.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to email us at
studentsupport@environmental.com
Write an e-mail to a friend explaining what has happened. Write your feelings about the message you
received and suggest possible alternatives. Write about 50 words.
Hello Ann,
I am writing to let you know that I feel a bit disappointed due to the cancellation of our next month’s
meetings where we were supposed to learn how to plant trees. Maybe we could arrange other
meetings the following month. What do you think?
Love,
Mary
Now, write an email to the forum’s staff, showing your disagreement with the situation and asking
for alternatives. Write about 120-150 words.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having seen that our next month’s meetings will be cancelled, I would like to express my
dissatisfaction regarding this news.
First at all, I have been told that part of our staff is feeling unwell because they got the flue and I am
really sorry about that.
Secondly, I have to say that many people were eager to take part in our project related to learn how
to plant trees in damaged areas. However, now this won’t be possible, which is a shame.
Consequently, I was wondering if we could manage other meetings to carry out this task the
following month.
Lastly, I would like to thank you on behalf of some members who feel very enthusiastic about this
idea.
Please, feel free to contact me to make other suggestions or organise a meeting. Many thanks.
Yours faithfully,
Mary Thompson.
Más modelos adicionales de esta cuarta parte:
Last week you received an email from your local council:
Dear residents,
To improve the telephone network, we will be installing a new telecoms tower on Thursday next week. It
will take approximately 6 hours to install. For this reason, all telephone services and all internet services will
be disrupted from 8am to 5pm on Thursday. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope it will bring a
better service.
The local council.
However, the installation took two days (Thursday and Friday) and since then, the service has been
significantly worse!
Write to a friend expressing your feelings about the situation and suggest possible alternatives.
Hi Jean,
I feel very upset because the quality of the telephone network is really poor after having installed the tower.
As a consequence, I have been thinking about organising a meeting with other residents, which could be an
effective idea to find a potential solution.
Love,
Blanca
Now, write an e-mail to the local council doing the same.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having read your email, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction concerning the new telephone network as
the service has been very poor since then.
On the one hand, residents were told that the installation would take six hours albeit it took longer so people
were unable to make or receive calls during that time.
On the other hand, the new service was supposed to be faster although it is by far worse than the previous
one at the moment. That was the reason why I have been collecting signatures in the neighbourhood in order
to have this issue fixed, which I have attached to this email.
We all would be very grateful if you could manage this incident as soon as possible as many of them still
remain isolated.
Please, feel free to contact me to discuss this issue.
Thanks in advance,
Yours faithfully,
Blanca Fernández.
Last week, you received a package that you ordered a few weeks ago for a friend. You were planning on
giving this item to your friend when she came to visit you. However, you receive this package late and
damaged.
Write an e-mail to your friend. Write about your feelings and what you are planning to do. Write about 50
words.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Having read your e-mail, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction concerning the delivery of the package
that I was handed over on 10th November. I tend to order many products in this company and actually I do
not know how to face this issue.
On the one hand, the order arrived too late, which did not allow me to carry out that I had planned.
On the other hand, the item is also damaged and I am not willing to accept it.
I would be very grateful if someone could offer me a solution bearing in mind that I am really interested in
receiving an alternative prpoducto or being refunded.
Thanks in advance,
Yours faithfully,
John Jane.
Limítate a responder
solo a lo que te preguntan.
- No pasarte de palabras (50). Puedes usar contracciones (ej: can’t) si lo deseas.
condiciones, relativos, modales, estilo indirecto e inversiones.
- Utiliza vocabulario interesante: attend, join, among, etc.
Limítate a responder
solo a lo que te preguntan.
- No pasarte de palabras (150). Puedes usar contracciones (ej: can’t) si lo deseas.
condiciones, relativos, modales, estilo indirecto e inversiones.
He elegido personalmente estas
- Infórmate acerca del uso de: tend to (presente), tended to/used to (Pasado) para hablar acerca de
- En la carta formal puedes usar estos conectores: On the one hand…, On the other hand (para

Having + participio + complemento, + frase afirmativa normal.
Having read your advertisement, I have decided to apply for this job.
algunos ejemplos:
Rarely do I make so many mistakes?
Never had I seen such a wonderful place!
Little did she realize the danger she faced.
Seldom have I been so interested in that subject!
Not only did they buy m e a present but they also gave me a great surprise
- Usa expresiones de opinión personal llamativas al principio de frase como estas: To my mind, I
reckon, I image, I consider, In my opinion, etc.
