Kosta's Milovan's Jovan was an ardent supporter of the "king and
homeland". Even when Niksic was released in 1944, he hoped that the king would
return, so he hid near Ostrog for a while. When he was convinced that nothing
would happen, he surrendered. They send him home and threaten him to take care
of his behavior.
Supporters of the people's government did not leave him alone. Persuasions rained
down:
- Jovan, revise your position Jovan, you saved your head: now be smart!
Jovan, when you sing with the fiddle, sing partisan songs, Jovan, when you sing
with the cows, sing louder so that the people hear what you are singing! Jovan...
And indeed, Jovan used to go to the first post-war elections to show the activists
his new attitude, with his song, which he sang in front of the bar on Pandurica
below Kunak.
Hey, people of Montenegro,

Veko’s Mrdelja and Duke Bozo
Veko's Mrdelja complained to the Minister of the Interior, Duke Bozo
Petrovic in Cetinje, that the government did not meet his needs well when
exercising control and that he was being belittled by

parties in disputes when he judges them, because he will not show them "in black
and white" who he is and what he is.
- "I'll give you a note for that the next time you come, I'm in big business
now," the duke told him.
Mrdelja from there, without a word, straight to Nikica's Ivana's tavern for
food and cognac. On the third day, he went to the duke again to write him a "note".
The duke was surprised to see Mrdelja, so he would say confusedly:
- When did you return from Niksic, God forbid?
- I didn't move from Nikica's Ivana's tavern, nor do I have a place to go
back without a note.
The duke crossed himself, took a piece of paper and a pencil case, and began
to write: "To inform all Captains and Authorities that Mr. Mrdelja Mijuskovic
would come across, that he is coming on my orders and that they must be at hand
and respond to his every request."

The seal strikes and he'd say:
- Here, Mrdelja, what you were looking for and a happy journey. And don't
let Nikica's Ivana curses at you ?!
I don’t go through, Lord, by God
Veko's Mrdelja was a smart man, but uneducated. He lost his parents too
soon: his father died and his mother remarried. But Mrdelja moved here, moved
there - he became educated, he became a clerk in court, then an investigator and
finally - a judge in Niksic.
Due to the reorganization of the courts in 1890, Mrdelja lost his job, but he
did not reconcile with that, but sent complaints and petitions to Prince Nikola. The
master answered him and

he gave him advices until his patience betrayed him, and then, at one request, he
sharply underlined:
- If you think I'll take you by the hand to N(iksic) to sit you in some place,
you're wrong. Get over me.
And he underlines this answer twice with a red pencil, thinking that this is
the end of their correspondence.
When Mrdelja read the answer, he slammed his fist on table and he said to
himself:
- I'm not passing, Lord, by God, but you will still read about Mrdelja, just
may God protect you!
The new appeal began as follows: “I was a cop at the District Court in
Niksic, an writer, and even more an envoy, from the same ones in the county for
investigating lawsuits. Not only do I say, but I refer to Mr. Duke Sako Petrovic,
that I was zealous in every way... "
However, after a few years of waiting, Mrdelja was appointed a member of
the Niksic Municipal Court with a salary of one thousand crowns "per year", and
then a judge of the same court.
Djuro is not a corward
Sava's Bajo's Djuro from Povija was considered a brave fighter. This was
acknowledged by all his comrades-in-arms - partisans. When his company
captured and tied up a dozen enemy soldiers, they ordered to Djuro to shoot all of
them. At that moment he unbuttoned his blouse, showed his chest and said to the
commander:
- First, shoot me, then them! I’m not a coward and I don’t want to kill tied
people!
The order was carried out by another, and Djuro barely survived.
What is joy

from famous village. On the eve of the wedding, which is prepared according to
the tradition

According to the tradition of this region and Montenegro, a large number of
guests gathered. The evening passed in joy - as it is appropirate for the family and
the groom.
At one point in the night, the wedding leaders were appointed. Djordje's
Marko's Veljko was chosen as the old wedding guest. The next day the wedding
guests went to work for the girl, singing and shooting into the sky. Her arrival at
the new home was accompanied by song, play and shooting. At the same time, one
of them, whose pistol did not stop firing, hooked a plate from the table and broke
it.
- "You've gone too far with the shooting, brother by God, and even you're
braking plates, and you know very well that they borrowed them from relatives and
neighbours for this occasion," the frowning, elderly bridegroom warned him.
As he heard a few more unwanted words, between these two, the old groom,
in order to "calm down" the situation, began to break the plates - by throwing. He
broke sixteen of them. Just as many as were brought from his house. And he had
no more in the home than that.
Nothing from people can be hidden
Djordjije's Marko brought a nice amount of money from America, after his
third return, so as a hard-working host he strengthened his financial situation on all
issues. In particular, he expanded the vineyard and expertly cultivated it, and he
was rarely short of wine and brandy. He spent them according to measure and
need, not at the request of the family. In the fall, he would fill a barrel of about
fifty liters of brandy and go up to the attic of the house to be saved there for spring
and summer work.
Rather, his son Dusan, during the long autumn and cold winter days - hiding
from his family - drinked through a straw until he drank it all on his own! When
the housewife went up to the attic in early May to pour a liter of brandy for the
plowmen in Niksic filed, she had something to see: the barrel was dissolved, the
hoops fell, and the other barrles were swept away!
- "It's youth, madness!" It's youth, madness! the old woman repeated in a
low voice as she slowly descended the linden pillars.

Note about author
Ilija Mijuskovic from father Mirko Minja and mother Djelika, born Nikolic,
professor by profession. He was born in the village of Kunak near Niksic on
October 17, 1934. He finished primary school in Ozrinici, four grades of high
school, Teacher's School and Pedagogical Academy, History and Geography
Group in Niksic, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Geography Group in Sarajevo, and
postgraduate studies in Belgrade at the Faculty of National Defense, where he
obtained a master's degree in military sciences. He finished the school of reserve
officers in Bileca. He has the rank of first class captain. He worked as a teacher in
several places in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. From 1976
until his retirement in 1999, he worked as an assistant and lecturer at the
Pedagogical Academy, the Faculty of Teacher Education and the Faculty of
Philosophy in Niksic. He has published several scientific and professional papers
in the field of geography, pedagogy and national defense. Contributions were
published in: Geography newspaper, Newspaper Pobjeda, Politika,
University word, Protect and defense, Civil protection, Military act,
collection of papers by professors and associates of Faculty of
Philosophy in Niksic and other rumor forces. He has participated in several
scientific conferences with his presentations. He has collaborated on a number of
scientific research projects and publications. He is the author of the following
books: The second generation of the five-year Teachers' School in Niksic

He prepared and published novels for the press: Grandfathers, Vortex and
flame day - his close and early deceased cousin Vojislav Vojo Novakovic, old
Mijuskovic from Povija, and Memories of the Commander of the Radoje's Djuro
Kontic Pjesivic Battalion. In his manuscript are the books: Genealogy of the
Mijuskovics Brotherhood, Cabinets in Gvozdenci and Gvozdenica.
Throughout his working life, he was intensively engaged in socio-political
work: the longest in the Association of Reserve Military Elders and the
Association of Speleologists of Yugoslavia and Montenegro, as a pensioner in the
Association of Pensioners of Montenegro.

Since 2002, he has been the president of the non-governmental organization
"Association Mijuskovics" from Niksic, which has achieved remarkable results in
terms of preserving the tradition of this fraternity.
For his entire work he received several awards, ranging from monetary awards to
municipal, republican and federal awards, of which we should certainly mention
the Diplomas of Deserved (1894) and Honorary (1988) member of the Association
of Speleologists of Yugoslavia - most awards in this field. He won the Order of
Military Services with a Silver Sword (1988). He lives in Niksic, 8 Maso Jelic
Street.
