Note: based on the oil viscosity and capacity of a pump it is possible to determine the pressure drop for every 100 m of piping by
means of the table.
On the viscosity, flow rate and internal pipe diameter scales, fix the corresponding values V, Q and D.
Join points V and Q with a straight line intersecting point I on the “index” line.
From this point I, pass a straight line through D until meeting the pressure drop scale at point P; the corresponding value represents
the pressure drop at point P; the corresponding value represents the pressure drop along 100 m of piping.
EXAMPLE: a pipe through which a fluid having a viscosity of 150 cSt. flows at a rate of 200 l/min and which has a diameter of 40 mm
will have a pressure drop of 1 kg/cm2 for every 100 m of length.
