“Civic Welfare Training

On our first meeting, Mrs. Malate first instructed that every meeting will start with
national anthem, followed by Bernardo College Hymn. After, we proceed with
introducing ourselves. Then, we discussed the Course Syllabus and the Grading
System.
 September 12, 2022

On the second day/met, everyone was assigned and formed a group of five, each group
has selected representatives of an officers that include the president, vice president,
secretary, treasurer, and more. Every group decided and planned about the election,
and everyone voted and declared the official officers of the class and everyone had no
regrets since the current officers were responsible to their duties until today and they
deserve to be in a position that they have.

The election of officers were fair and square. Afterwards, we discussed about the
mission and vision of Bernardo, the history, the founder, when does the school
founded/created, the hymn, logo and we also discussed the meaning of each symbol
and words in the logo and more.

On that day, we had a Hyflex class and we were able to discuss about the importance
or meaning of the Subject in National Training Service Program for First year Colleges,
we said with my group mates, what can be studied for this subject, which we will do.
The National Service training program has three components and these are the CWTS,
ROTC and LTS in between this program helped us, be ready and be responsible to help
others for our community.

I have been able to develop the way I learn and interact with others to a degree that has
also helped me to mature into a better person. I have come to believe that this maturity
will help me to develop into a better thinker as well, one that has the patience to listen
and take consideration of what others have to say. I consider the act of learning a two
way avenue that has to be taken seriously.

I have a mindset now that is unlike anything I have ever achieved before. I continue to
grow in this way of thinking and learning each time I interact with my fellow classmates
and professors. I have learned to build my ideas and thoughts around a system of
interactive engagements with team members of numerous student groups I have had
the pleasure to be associated with. And, to take the valuable advice and mentoring
from the outstanding professionals that have been my professors as a guiding path for
my own professional.

First day of school is the beginning of new experiences of being a student college. That
first day of school of mine is not that boring because I know how to be with others even
if we didn't know each other. First day of school is not all about meeting other person
but it is also meeting new subjects and gaining new learning and knowledge.

This time send a positive message to the class. Show that you are confident and that
you are grateful to be part of the class. For example, I like to say “I hope to have a
wonderful year and get to know each and everyone of you”. this way you have higher
chances of meeting new people and expanding your circle of friends.

October 24, 2022 Monday at 8 o'clock in the morning, we expected to have a face-to-
face class for the unit of NSTP (CWTS) but the school has a problem with their internet
thus we started the class through an online conference in schoology.

However, few of my classmates attended the online conference while in school. The
instructor presented the discussion topic, which is personality and personality
development. The instructor discusses the lesson topic through recitation, some of my
classmates are called to read the presented document, then tell what their ideas and

own understanding about what they have read. Also through the discussion, a few of my
classmates shared their personal experience that can be related to the topic and the
instructor shared some advice that can be helpful to the students. Overall, the
conference was insightful and a meaningful discussion.

This is the day we do team building so that we can have association and relationship
with each other. Organizing team-building activities to help students get to know each
other and to step outside of their comfort zone while also having fun gives them a
unique opportunity to meet new people. Teamwork is a process of bringing
individuals together and joining their efforts and talents collaboratively, to achieve
a goal or a mission.

It is an attitude and sense that individuals can support each other so that their strengths
combine to enhance what they do. While team building involves the formation of groups
to achieve goals, teamwork refers to the coming together of team members by
bringing their individual skills and uniting them to achieve a common goal.
Team building often consists of two parts for each challenge or activity. You have the
initial activity and then afterwards is time for reflection.

We studied that day was how we got to know ourselves, after that our prof asked one by
one about the topic we discussed, all of us happily answered and happily finished what
we learned.

I believe that Face to Face learning is better than online learning because students
have access to various learning resources on campus verses off. Face to face allows
students to have instant gratification with answers and help. When a student is in class
they can ask questions while it is fresh on their mind or help with a particular problem.
Face to face students also gain from socialization with peers and interaction with
teachers.

Boodle fights have become popular that even famous personalities to enjoy this style of
eating and I am so happy to boodle fights with my classmate and friends in school.
Eating with classmates and friends is one way to bond. Good food and the opportunity
to share stories is a great way to strengthen the relationship with the people that matter
to you.

The fifth group reporting about the leadership and team performance. As a leader, you
should be the leader, you are the first to think of the strategy to be taken, so that you
and your group members can complete your tasks and as members you must obey and
do what is given to you, you can suggest something to do, if you think of something that
would be easier to do your tasks and the leader should also listen to the suggestions of
his group members and especially if this helps your group performance.

This was reported by the first group their topic was about drug abuse prevention. the
social problems associated with drugs as we have seen are, unemployment, and
instability in families, crimes, education problems, prostitution and health related
problems.

It is therefore important for everyone to stand up and take up position in fighting this war
on drugs. We should also help those in it to quit and embrace them us our people in the
society. After the reporting of the first group, they gave question to ask the classmate
about what they reported drug abuse prevention.
