Natural Lipstick Making Masterclass

(Not the actual picture of the product)

Natural Lipstick is a trending beauty product worldwide. It’s very easy to make and is
very good for the lips.

Formulation -
Beeswax -1%
Shea butter/ mango butter - 1%
Almond oil - 3%
Candelilla wax - 0.50 %
Carnuba wax - 0.50%
Castor oil - 3%
Pigment - 1-2%
Fragrance oil - as required
Preservative- .25% (BHT)
Note -This formulation will give 10g of lipstick.

Procedure -
1. Measure all waxes , oils and butter and melt them on a double boiler or
microwave.
2. Once it is melted , check the consistency by dropping a drop of melted base on the
plate and try spreading it with your finger.
3. If it is hard to spread ,then have to add little more oil (1-2% almond oil depends on
hardness)
4. And if it’s too soft then have to add lil wax (any) and re melt and check again .
5. Mix the pigment and mica in a small container with 1% of castor oil and check the
desired shade after mixing with oil.
6. Now mix it with 1 part lipstick base and fragrance oil, preservative and melt it again
.
7. Grease the lipstick mould with almond oil , and pour the melted base in it .
8. Let it sit for 15-20 mins . After that demould the lipstick and insert it in the lipstick
case.

Variant - (Nude lipstick )

1% nude lipstick mica


1% fragrance oil

Add this to the desired quantity of lipstick base and melt it again , and fill in the
container.
