On July 7, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire defeated undefeated Australian champion Vic "The Raging Bull" Darchinyan in a 12-round IBF Flyweight bout. Donaire dominated the fight, landing solid punches and opening a cut over Darchinyan's eye in the third round. In the fourth round, Donaire trapped Darchinyan with a counter left hook that knocked the champion down. Although Darchinyan rose, the referee stopped the fight with 38 seconds remaining in the round, crowning Donaire the new IBF and IBO flyweight champion.

 Donaire stamped astounding counter left hook to his foe at the end of the bell
 Both boxers lost in the limbo of responding left – right shots in the succeeding rounds until
Donaire inflicted a large cut on the right eye of the 5’5 champion in the third round
 Darchinyan, who hailed from Vaznador, Armenia, danced with the aggressive Donaire,
landing a straight left on the chin of the Fil-Am contender
 fourth round: Donaire dominated the ring by breaking the invincible defense of Darchinyan,
letting him trigger out numerous body shots
 at 1:30 to clock before the bell, the Aussie champ tried to burst out straight punch but was
stepped in Donaire’s trap and was fully slammed with a counter left hooj contacted on the
jaw
 the undefeated champion was knocked down to the ring but was able to stand up for a
moment
 Referee Eddie Claudio counted but the bloody champion failed, staggered and laid down in
the ropes of the ring
 with 38 seconds left in the round, the referee waved off indicating knock-out
 “This is tremendous victory not only for me but for my family and my people in the
