6.0 BASIC OF LIGHTING DESIGN

6.1 Power Supply for Lighting Fixtures
The additional new lighting fixtures power supply will be taken from Distribution
Board 8107-EF-0632 with a voltage rating of 480/280V.

6.2 Calculation Software

Software DIALux Evo 11.0 is utilized to perform this lighting calculation which is
based on room index and point-by-point method.
Point by point method is a lighting design procedure for pre-determining the
illuminance at various locations in lighting installation, by use of luminaries’
photometric data.
Point-by-point method is normally used to determine illumination level at outdoor
area.
6.3 Illumination Level
Based on PHR-SDP-SPC-105106 Safety Design Practices, average illumination
level shall not be less than the following requirements :

Note : 1. This calculation using vendor data of Crouse-Hinds lighting catalogue which
available in DIALux Evo 11.0 for reference.
2. This existing lighting is as assume, will be update after received actual data
from PHR.
The area need to verify and will be consider for additional type illuminate, use HPS
lighting like existing or LED for new produced water pump area.

7.0 CALCULATION METHOD

Based on IES Lighting Handbook page 9-44 to 9-45, point by point method is used
for calculating the illumination level at a point, whether on a horizontal, a vertical or
an inclined plane consists of two parts at outdoor area. This method has general
formula as shown :

Figure 1 – Illumination Point To Point for Outdoor Area

Illumination at point A = Illumination from Lamp-1 + Illumination from Lamp-2

10.0 SUMMARY
Based on lighting calculation on new produced water pump area use 2 methods. The
first method is addition 2 HPS flood light 250 Watt with 14304 lumen, after additional
HPS lighting lux average on area is 32,7 lux with standard 50 lux (refer to table-1,
Illumination level) its mean first method not acceptable. The second method is
addition 2 LED flood light 40 Watt with 5076 lumen, after additional LED lighting lux
average on area is 81,5 lux with standard 50 lux (refer to table-1, Illumination level)
its mean second method acceptable. So adding 2 each LED flood light are
recommended for new produced water pump area.
