wages for the first two
months, two-thirds of
the monthly wages for
the next two months,
and half of the
monthly wages for the
subsequent months.
Compensation for
disability in the case of
a chronic occupational
disorder will be paid
at the rate of half of
the monthly wages
during the term of the
disability, but in no
case shall the period
exceed two years.
The fifth schedule of this Act deals with the amount of compensation payable
in certain grounds-
It is divided in three grounds mainly. These are-
1. Monthly wages of the injured worker
2. Amount of compensation
=> in case of death
=> in case of permanent disablement
3. Monthly payment as compensation for temporary disablement.
Whatever be the amount of basic wages of the worker the victim will get 2 lakh
in case of death. On the other hand, he will get 250000 in case of permanent
total disablement.
But in the case of temporary disablement compensation shall be paid for the
period of disablement or for 1 year, whichever is shorter.
Such compensation shall be paid off at the rate of full monthly wages for the
first two months at the rate of two-thirds of the monthly wages. For the next 2
months and at the rate of half of monthly wages for the subsequent months.
In the case of a chronic occupational disorder, compensation for disablement
shall be paid at the rate of half of monthly wages during the period of
disablement, but such period shall in no case exceed 2 years.
