Known Error

C060

Root Cause
“Service Call C060 Firmware Update Error” message while updating the Engine firmware. Once this
occurs, updating the Engine firmware cannot continue unless you replace the PWB­MC assembly
(PRCB).
This problem only occurs when updating from "Step 1" to "Step 2" firmware. If the machine has
controller firmware "Step 2" or later, the problem will not occur.
 
 

Workaround/Fix
CAUSE: Someone places paper in the ADF or opens the ADF while updating the Engine firmware. This
causes the controller to send the print­ready command to the PRCB while updating the Engine
firmware, resulting in updating failure.
 
SOLUTION: Replace the PRCB (p/n A1UD P000 04).
Notes

Either of the following will help avoid the problem.

1. Do not place any paper in the ADF and do not open the ADF while updating the Engine firmware.
2. Update the controller firmware to "Step2" or later before updating the Engine firmware.

Problem
When trying to SMB scan, "Scan TX failed. Job is cancelled." message occurs. All settings in Address
Book appear to be correct.

Solution
CAUSE: Incorrect NTLM setting.
 
SOLUTION: Using PageScope Web Connection, browse to Administrator g Network g SMB Settings g
SMB Client Settings and change NTLM from v 1 (default) to v1/v2. (see attached)

Problem
When printing to the HDD (Store Job, Print & Hold, Secured Job, Proof then Print, ID&Print) if the job
name is the same as one already stored, the older job will be overwritten.

Solution

CAUSE: Incorrect setting.

SOLUTION: Change this behavior using Soft Switch 3.\

1. Login to Service Mode.

2. Touch [Soft Switch].

3. Touch [SW3].

4. Set the value to '16'.

5. Turn power OFF/ON.

Now when printing a job with the same name, the new job will have a numerical suffix to differentiate it
from the old job.

Problem
After replacing the PH Unit, no Image is printed on the output pages.

Printing, copying or producing internal reports are blank.
No Error condition is indicated.

Solution
CAUSE: The PH Unit has not been installed correctly. When replacing the PH Unit, the rear of the PH Unit has not been
correctly reseated into position. Due to this incorrect positioning, the PH Unit is sitting at the wrong angle and therefore
the laser does not write the required information to the drum surface.
 
SOLUTION: To correctly position the PH Unit:
1. Remove the three screws and springs holding the PH Unit in place as per Service Manual.
Note: When removing the three screws and springs, Note the color and position of the spacers, if positioned underneath
the PH Unit.
2. When correctly repositioning the PH Unit, ensure that the rear side of the PH Unit is located correctly as per diagram
below.

Correct positioning of the PH Unit when viewed from the left hand side of the machine with the Metal End
Plate removed. The bottom plate of the PH Unit is located in the recess of the machine frame and not resting
on top of the machine frame.

Problem
The MFP will power up and go to Ready, but will not print from the PC, print internal pages or copy. It
may be able to scan.

Solution
CAUSE: Corrupt data in the SSD (Solid State Drive) board. DHCP assignment fails.
 
When in Ready state, Press the Utility/Counter key.
1. The Utility Mode screen will appear.
 

 
2. Press the [¯] key and select Admin Settings.
3. Press Password and enter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 then press [OK] twice.
4. Select Security Settings.
5. Select SSD Low­Level Format.
CAUTION: The following data is deleted.

Image files
Address book (E­mail address and telephone number destination data)
S/MIME certificates (Encryption certification)
Sent and received fax data

Please have the Address book data written down prior to the format. The data will be cleared and will
need to be reentered.
6. The display will indicate Now Deleting Format (it will take about 2½ minutes to complete).
7. Execute to 100%.

Problem
FS­529, abnormal noise when exit tray moves.

Solution
CAUSE: The Exit Tray Lift gear is broken.
 
SOLUTION: Please replace the gear with a modified one per instructions in attached Bulletin Number
7663. This modification has been applied to finishers with serial numbers above A0U7WY1014536 and
A0U7WY2006753.
IMPORTANT: The Tray Gear assembly (p/n A0U7 PPD0 00) is available and all other parts listed are
not necessary to repair the Exit Tray Lift gear.
The new style motor does not need to be installed, but the pulse disk will have to be adjusted to insert
and rotate freely in the detection sensor.
Notes:
1. The Tray Gear assembly (p/n A0U7 PPD0 00) should be compatible with both unmodified and pre­
modified finishers.
2. There are two (2) versions of the FS­529. Please use Item #A0U7WY1 ("older" version) designed
only for the bizhub C360/C280/C220 and Item #A0U7WY2 for the bizhub 36/42/423/363/283/223.
The serial number on the finisher will be different between the two items. The serial number begins with
the item code (example: A0U7WY1xxxxxx). 
Item #A0U7WY2 will work with all the models.

CAUSE: The machine is set for a static TCP/IP address.
 
SOLUTION: Set the machine to DHCP and verify the TCP/IP address. The network may require DHCP to
be enabled.

Although bizhub 42/36 has a vendor port on the PRCB (CN17), vendor mode is not supported in
firmware. Thus, external vending devices (Bear, Equitrac, Monitor etc) cannot be used.

Problem
FS­529, jam code 72­17 or 72­21 may be indicated.

Solution
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. In the Transport section, L and R arms pop off the Shaft. This part of the transport guide
drops down blocking the paper path.
Reattach the two arms onto the shaft (p/n A0U7 PP7Y 00). The L and R arms (p/n A0U7 PP5U 00) may
need to be replaced if they are damaged. Please see attached document for parts location details.
 
2. Modification may be needed. (For bizhub C360/C280/C220 only)
Please refer the attached FS­529 Countermeasure document and Bulletin Number 7706 for the detailed
information.
 
3. The speed of the transportation motor torque was slower than the specification. Firmware
update is required. (Not for FS­529 connected to bizhub 36/42)
Please install the latest FS­529 firmware. The firmware is available for download from the Download
Selector oe One­Stop Product Support.

As of version 2.7 (SR1), the FAX MEMORY FULL Trouble Code (FFE1) is reported to vCare (CS
Remote Care). This Trouble Code is able to be viewed through the vCare web application in the
Maintenance g Past Data g Trouble and Maintenance g History g Trouble sections.

Problem
When installing a driver, an error message of "Your security preferences are set to block installation of
applications from unidentified developers." is displayed and the installation is prevented.

Solution
Please refer to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290 for information about Gatekeeper in Mountain
Lion.
Apple changed default security preferences on OS 10.8 to only allow installation of downloaded
programs from the Apple Store or from "identified developers".

Workaround 1
Open [System Preferences] ­> [Security & Privacy] ­> [Allow applications downloaded from].
Select [Anywhere].

Note: Attached is a screenshot of the setting. 

Workaround 2
Right click (Control + Click) Package file and show menu. Select [Open].

Note: Visual, SOHA or plugin driver is currently not supported until the official MAC 10.8 PostScript
driver is released which should be at least 90 days from the release of the OS.

Problem
When upgrading firmware, "Error" LED glows and percentage counter seems to be stuck on 0%
(especially in the case of finisher firmware).

Solution
CAUSE: This is normal operation.
 
SOLUTION: Wait for upgrade to finish. Eventually the upgrade will reach 100% with no errors.
Note: This behaviour will cannot be modified.

Answer
To fax forward to another fax number: 
1. Press the Utility/Counter key.
2. Scroll to screen 2/2.
3. Press Admin Setting.
4. Press Password.
5. Type in the administrator password, and then press OK.
Note: The default password is 12345678.
6. Press OK. The Admin Setting screen appears. Scroll to screen 5/5.
7. Press Fax Settings. The Fax Settings screen appears.
8. Scroll to screen 2/5.
9. Press Forward TX Settings.
10. Press Forward TX Setting. Select ON. Press OK.
11. Press Forwarding Address. Enter a fax number to forward to manually or by selecting a saved fax
number in the address book.
12. Press OK.
13. Press Forward & Print. Select Forward & Print (if TX fails).
14. Press OK.

Question
How to completely uninstall a printer driver in Microsoft® Windows 2000/XP/Vista™/7.

Answer
When removing a printer from the Printers folder, the printer driver file is not removed completely from
the hard disk drive. The following describes procedures to use if a printer driver file is corrupted and
requires removal:

WINDOWS 2000

WARNING: If using Registry Editor incorrectly, serious problems may occur that will require
reinstallation of the operating system. Microsoft®/KMBS cannot guarantee that problems can be solved
that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor with extreme caution.
1. Remove the printer using the Printers folder in Microsoft® Windows 2000. 
2. In Microsoft® Windows 2000, in Control Panel, double­click Administrative Tools, double­click
Services, and then stop the Spooler service. 
3. Run Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe) and go to the following subkey (note that this is all one path,
which has been wrapped for readability):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT
x86\Drivers\Version­3\
Note: Version­3 is Microsoft® Windows 2000, and is the name of the printer to be removed.
4. Notice the values on the right and write down the file names. 
5. With the printer driver key selected, click Delete on the Edit menu. 
6. Go to the following directory and delete the printer driver files noted in step 4:
%SystemRoot%\System32\Spool\Drivers\ 
Note: If unable to delete the files and folders in the above directory structure after stopping the spooler

service because of an error message that the files are in use (such as, Rasddui.dll), set the startup
type for the Spooler service to Disabled, restart the computer, and then attempt to delete the files and
folders again. After deleting the files, restore the Spooler startup to Automatic.
7. In Microsoft® Windows 2000, in Control Panel, double­click Administrative Tools, double­click
Services, and then start the Spooler service. 
8. If reinstalling a printer, use the Printers folder.
9. Delete the %windir%\inf\oem?.inf file that is associated with the removed printer driver. This
removes the printer from the printer selection list when adding new printers. 
Note: In addition to the steps listed above, it may be necessary to delete the printer's associated
unidriver (Rasdd.dll, Pscript.dll, or Plotter.dll). If printing has been initialized or if a process is using this
file, it will be locked open and cannot be deleted. The file can be renamed or the system can be
restarted to free up the driver. Refer to the Printer.inf file to see which unidriver is used by a particular
printer.

WINDOWS XP

Microsoft® Windows XP adds a user interface feature to delete driver files so the steps for Microsoft®
Windows 2000 are no longer necessary. To delete printer driver files in Microsoft® Windows XP:
1. Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
2. On the File menu, click Server Properties.
3. On the Drivers tab, click the printer driver to be deleted, and then click Remove.

WINDOWS VISTA / WINDOWS 7

To completely remove a printer driver, please refer to attached documentation for procedure.
Notes:
1. Microsoft® Windows 7 Home or Home Premium, does not have the "Print Management" snap­in for
MMC. You have to run command prompt as ADMINISTRATOR, enter printui /s /t2, remove the printer
driver and reboot.
2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide
confirmation.
3. Remember, you cannot remove a printer if you have items in the print queue. If items are waiting to
print when you try to remove a printer, Microsoft® Windows will wait until printing is complete, and then
remove the printer. If you have permission to manage documents on the printer, you can also cancel all
print jobs and then try to remove the printer again. For more information, see attached documentation
concerning how to cancel printing and printer permissions. To view a PDF, you may need to download a

How to prevent Optical Unit (Scanner Unit) belt from loosening during transport.

Answer
Prior to transporting the MFP:
1. Check the scanner is at the home position, then turn the main power switch OFF.
2. Slide the scanner lock lever to lock position.
Note: If the scanner does not return to the home position due to a malfunction in the main body, please
refer to the steps below.
    a. Remove the Optical Unit.
    b. Tilt the unit to set the scanner at the home position.
 

 
    c. Slide the scanner lock lever to the lock position.

Answer
To print a Fax report:
1. Press the Utility/Counter key.

10. Press Activity Report.
11. Press Output Settings. Here you can select how frequently to have an activity report printed.

day. The user can also turn activity report printing off.

How to set up Microsoft® Exchange 2007/2010 with authentication.

Answer
Please perform the following steps:

Basic checks before starting 

1. Verify DNS is working on the MFP. This can be verified by PINGing Google.com from PING
confirmation in Network settings/Detail settings. 
2. Set up time adjustment to sync to the Active directory or Exchange® server. Verify that the date and
time on the machine are correct after syncing. 
3. Verify a valid E­mail account is created for the MFP on Exchange®. If the machine does not have an
account, please verify that a valid account is being used.

On Exchange 

4. Create a new receive connector in Exchange®. 
5. Under the General tab of the connector please specify the full FQDN of the Exchange® server. 
6. Under the Network tab of the connector please add the MFP TCP/IP address to the list of local
TCP/IP addresses to receive E­mail. 
7. Under the Authentication tab of the connector please verify that Transport Layer Security, Basic
Authentication and Exchange Server authentication are checked. 
8. Under the Permissions tab of the connector please verify that anonymous, exchange servers and
exchange users are checked.

9. Verify that the machine and admin E­mail addresses are a valid Exchange® E­mail addresses. 
10. Verify that Start TLS is selected on port 587. 
11. Make sure to check the SMTP authentication check box. 
12. Input the user name and password of the Exchange® account assigned to the machine.
13. Set the domain name under the SMTP authentication section.
14. Send a test E­mail and verify that the machine functions as intended.

Answer
Prerequisites

NMAS has to be installed for simple passwords to be set. Scan to SMB will not function properly
using an eDirectory password.
Under the server console:

1. Select 1 to enter the system console.
2. Type CIFSSTRT to start the CIFS service.

On a PC:

1. Start iManager®.  Http://ipaddress/nps/imanager.html
2. Select file protocols ­ CIFS/AFP.
3. Verify the netware server is selected.
4. Create a new share. Enter a name, path and comment.
5. Select NMAS on the left hand menu and then select your NMAS user.
6. Set a simple password for the user. An eDirectory password will not work when scanning to SMB.

Under the server console:

1. Stop CIFS using the CIFSSTOP command.

1. Create an SMB one touch. Enter the TCP/IP address or host name of the Novell© server.
2. Enter your Novell© user name and your simple password. No domain is needed for the user name.
3. File path will be the name of the share only. If the share name is scan the file path will be scan.
4. Verify scan to SMB functions properly.

To scan a document to a USB thumb drive for convenient access:
1. Place the original document into the document feeder or place it on the flatbed glass.
2. Insert the USB thumb drive in the USB port on the front right of the machine.
3. Press the Scan­to­Folder key.
4. Press the Direct Input key.
5. Press the USB Memory key.
6. Press Document Name and press the C hard key to clear the field.
7. Enter a document name. Press OK twice.
8. Press the Start key.
9. The document is now saved to your USB thumb drive.

To pick a paper tray for received fax printing:
1. Press the Utility/Counter key.
2. Scroll to screen 2/2.
3. Press Admin Setting.
4. Press Password.
5. Type in the administrator password, and then press OK.
Note: The default password is 12345678.
6. Press OK. The Admin Setting screen appears. Scroll to screen 5/5.
7. Press Fax Settings. The Fax Settings screen appears.
8. Press Function Settings.
9. Press Tray Selection for RX Print.
10. Select the paper tray to be used for printing received faxes (default is Auto).
11. Press OK.
12. Press Close 3 times.
13. Press Home.

How to forward fax pages to E­mail in PDF format.

Answer
If a requirement is to forward fax pages to E­mail in PDF format, the device firmware will need to be
updated. Download and install either:
 
A3EW30G0043262 for bizhub 36
                    or
A3EW30G2043262 for bizhub 42
 
The following are new setting options.
?UI panel?
New setting option "File Type" is added in the menu under "Forward TX Settings". "PDF" is set as
default.
Utility g  Admin Settings g  Fax Settings g  Forward TX Settings g  File Type
 
?FAX?
If PDF is selected in "File Type", the received FAX data will be converted to PDF, then the data will be
forwarded as PDF file. (If TIFF is selected in "File Type", the received FAX data will be forwarded as
TIFF.)
 
?Report?
The forwarded file type will be printed on "Forward TX Setting" field in "Fax Set Up Information List".
"Fax Set Up Information List" can be printed out.

CAUSE: Apple® changed default security preferences on OS 10.8 to only allow installation of
downloaded programs from the Mac App Store or from "identified developers".
 
SOLUTION: If you get an error, you will need to perform one of the following workarounds.

Workaround 1

Open [System Preferences] g [Security & Privacy] g [Allow applications downloaded from] then select
[Anywhere].
Note: Attached is a screenshot of the setting.

Workaround 2

Right click (Control + Click) Package file and show menu then select [Open]. 
Notes:
1. OS 10.8 drivers have been released since October 2012 and a list of drivers and their approximate
release dates can be found by clicking here, then clicking on the "Product Compatibility Chart" link.
Products not listed will not receive native OS 10.8 drivers at this time.

It is not possible to update the finisher firmware for bizhub 36/42. As a workaround, it is possible to
install the finisher on a bizhub 423 series or bizhub C360 series system, update the firmware then install
the finisher on the bizhub 36/42.

There are two (2) versions of the FS­529. Please use Item #A0U7WY1 ("older" syle) designed only for
the bizhub C360/C280/C220 and Item #A0U7WY2 for the bizhub 42/36/423/363/283/223.
The serial number on the finisher will be different between the two items. The serial number begins with
the item code (example: A0U7WY1xxxxxx).
Note: Item #A0U7WY2 will work with all the models. Please refer to attached configuration

NVRAM trouble codes (C­D3xx codes) can occur at any time. Mostly these codes happen when
updating firmware. A NVRAM Data Restore procedure can be used to address these codes:
    Stop, 0, 7, 1, 3, 9, *
What this procedure does is take a good image of the NVRAM off the MFP board (created when you
performed the NVRAM Data Backup) and restore it to the NVRAM. There are approximately 30 registers
that can be corrupt, so the above procedure may have to be done as much as 30 times.
WARNING: If a corrupt NVRAM is suspected, DO NOT perform the NVRAM Data Backup. This will take
the corrupt NVRAM image and back it up to the MFP board. If this is done, and the NVRAM is replaced,
the corrupt data that was just backed up will be transferred to the new NVRAM. If this is the case, then
the NVRAM and MFP board will have to be replaced as a set.
 
Known unrecoverable NVRAM symptoms:
1. Stuck on hourglass screen
2. Incorrect meters
3. When performing the NVRAM restore procedure the codes repeat themselves
Note: One thing that has been noticed is these machines seem to be highly susceptible to voltage sags
and spikes. It is HIGHLY recommended to install a quality power line conditioner on these machines.
Known fixes for various codes:
C­D36E and C­E002 – Install Phase 3.01 firmware (H5 or H6 depending on model).

If a corrupt NVRAM is suspected, please try performing a Data Clear. This can be found in the Tech
Rep mode.
CAUTION: All programmed addresses will be cleared. Please backup the address data using
PageScope Web Connection to backup the data before performing the Data Clear. If NVRAM
replacement is necessary please be aware that the meters may not be transferred and they might be
reset to zero. This is unrecoverable and the correct meters cannot be input.
 
8020/CF2002/8031/CF3102
Codes C­3C00 through C­3C40 indicate a corrupt BRU.
Codes C­3C50 through C­3C90 indicates a problem with the PWB­C board or the scanner to main body
cable.
 
8050/CF5001/bizhub PRO C500
The NVRAM for the bizhub PRO C500 cannot be replaced in the field. The only way to correct a corrupt
NVRAM is to send the OACB, NVRAM, and PRCB into Konica Minolta to be reset.
Known defective NVRAM symptoms:
1. Meters or default adjustment values are extremely high.
2. Adjustments do not hold after powering the machine OFF/ON.
Note: On the Black and White machines verify that the NVRAM is bad by swapping a good NVRAM from
another machine in the same product family. This will save significant time and expense in getting back
the machine in working condition.
 
bizhub 200/250/350
Common symptoms when NVRAM replacement may be necessary:
1. Machine not going to ready state.
2. Not printing to a host name with DHCP.
3. Not scanning to E­mail.
4. On startup, abort code 0x0000999a.
5. Abort code 0x00f00b00.
6. Not printing.
7. Machine rebooting every few minutes.
8. Screen freezing in Konica Minolta logo.
9. Keep losing machine settings when power OFF.
 
bizhub 420/500
Common symptoms when NVRAM replacement may be necessary:
Note: First try to flash the machine to the latest firmware before swapping the NVRAM because the
firmware fixes many of the following symptoms:
1. Screen freeze in Konica Minolta logo.
2. Fax unit locking up the MFP or not recognized.
3. C­E084 error code.
4. Cannot PING the MFP.
5. C­D203 error code.
6. Display resetting to Japanese.
7. Losing network settings after firmware upgrade.
8. C­E002 error code.
9. Scan to E­mail or FTP.
10. Loss of adjustment data.

Solution

Problem
PROBLEM:  When printing from Cerner, there is no output

Solution
CAUSE:  Cerner requires Status Read Back (SRB) messages to be answered before sending the print
job.

SOLUTION:  Perform the following procedures:

For A4 machines (handling letter or legal size),  enable Bidirectional setting under Port 9100

For A3 machines (handling up to ledger size), set soft switch 61 to 0c in Tech Rep mode.

Reboot the MFP after making the change.

For A3 machines, In some situations the change does not work at first, in those few cases, initializing
the Network settings, from the Security Settings ­> Detail selection should get the function to operate.

Problem
PROBLEM  When scanning with WebDAV, process ends in error, This issue will only occur when the
host name of the destination is obtained through DNS.

Solution
CAUSE:  An Underscore is in the Host name.  The soft keyboard does not support special characters
like an Underscore, therefore, if the host name is obtain through another means e.g.DNS, the scan will
fail in error,

SOLUTION:  Please do not use special characters for the host name, please only use characters that
are available on the soft keyboard.

When installing an MFP in a customer location please be aware of AC Vents, Open Windows, Strong
Breeze and Fans.

Please understand that when the MFP is in use the hot air circulating inside the MFP are  being
dispersed through the open vents of the body. 
When there is a strong breeze pointing towards the vents in the MFP the HOT air being pushed out is
now being blocked and pushed back into the machine. 

Issues that could arise from a strong breeze pointed at the MFP vent:
Melting of plastic parts
Melting of drum, developing unit, conveyance unit
Melting of shroud/ guide plate
MFP malfunctions

Boards could be affected by the melting of sensors or parts in the fuser area

Do not place MFP under AC Vent
Do not point a Fan directly at the MFP

Optimum operating environment for the MFP should be (10 to 30° C / 50 to 86° F (with a fluctuation of
10° C / 18° F or less per hour))

Konica Minolta Mobile Print is an app that allows you to connect your iOS device to a Konica Minolta MFP; the app integrates with the OS
to enable trouble­free printing and importing scanned data. Konica Minolta Mobile Print is an application that allows you to easily connect
to KONICA MINOLTA printing devices from your Android device using Wi­Fi.  It enables you to print documents and images as well as
import scanned data.

* Konica Minolta Mobile Print is a successor application to the PageScope Mobile.

Print Function:Prints images you have selected in the Photo Album function of the app via a connected MFP.
 
Opens any file stored in an integrated app from the Storage function and prints it via a connected MFP.
 
Prints emails and email attachments received when your email address is set up in the Konica Minolta Mobile Print app. 
 
Supports Authentication and Secure Print to provide you with a more Secure printing environment.
You can print directly from your cloud storage, browser and camera app with the OS integration function. 
The Android Printing Framework* enables you to print your emails.
Authentication and Secure Print functions allow you to print sensitive documents securely. 
 
*Android Printing Framework is a function implemented in Android OS 4.4 or higher.

 
Scan Function:
Stores images you scanned via a remotely operated MFP using the Konica Minolta Mobile Print app on your mobile device into any OS­
integrated app (a cloud storage app, etc.). 
 Scans a document or photo via a connected MFP from the Konica Minolta Mobile Print app to your mobile device and stores it in an OS­
integrated app (cloud storage app, etc.). 

Bluetooth LE Function:
Bluetooth LE enables the following operations:
­ Registration of an MFP by touching
­ Print by touching
­ Scan by touching
­ Authentication by touching

Error
FK­509, CB116 occurs when sending a fax.

Root Cause
1. CN106 not seated properly on the MFP board (MFPB).
2. Fax unit not seated properly.
3. Firmware anomaly.
4. Possible corrupt data on Fax board.
5. Failed Fax board.

Workaround/Fix
1. Reseat CN106 on the MFPB
2. Reseat Fax unit
3. Install firmware version G00­07 or newer. The latest version firmware is available for download via
One Stop Product Support.
4. Initialize Fax board in Service Mode (this will not erase address book)
     a. Press Utility/Counter
     b. Press Meter Count on meter count display
     c.Press the following Stop 00 Stop 01
     d. Press Password
     e. Enter CE password 92729272 (default) if necessary
     f. Press OK to enter Service Mode
     g. Select Service Fax Settings
     h. Select Fax Factory Default
     i. Press Yes
     j. Press OK to start the initialization
     k. When complete, turn OFF the machine for at least 10 seconds and then reboot
5. Replace Fax board (p/n A49FH019801).:

Problem Solution

Problem
"ADF initialize" message in display and unable to use the Document Feeder.

Solution
CAUSE: Possible loss of communication between ADF and MFPB.

SOLUTION: Perform the following steps 
1. Reseat connection on Controller board and MFPB.
2.Please check the wiring harness(es) by unplugging all associated connectors, checking all wires to
ground (for a short) and checking continuity of the wiring (for an open).
3.Prior to replacing the MFPB call the CSC at 1­800­825­5664 for further instruction.
