Course Title

The DigiTITANS programs provides computer education, it gives to the learner’s experiences that
they can be proud of later in life. It equips them with the essential competencies, both in Microsoft
Course -based and open-source applications, that will make them more effective students in high school.
Description They gain practical know-how on productivity tools and discover pertinent facts and concepts that
give them a better grasp of ICT in general. It’s the DigiTITANS way of preparing and empowering
Filipino grade school students for success in a wholly ICT – dominated future.
Learning • Basic things about computing devices.
Outcomes • Identify the purposes of hardware and software.
• Be introduced to the different multimedia programs.
• Find out how to handle computer resources; and
• Discover how to communicate using a computer and keep in touch with others.

Processing Data
➢ Cooking
✓ Is a process of changing the basic ingredients of food so that you can eat it.
Example:
Rice grains are hard when uncooked

Data
➢ Can be numbers, letters, or pictures, When data is processed, it goes through
changes.
➢ The computer turns it into something useful and meaningful to its user. This is
called information.

Lesson Objectives:
• Distinguish between hardware and software
• Explain how hardware and software work together

Computer Hardware
- The parts of the computer that can be seen and touched.
Examples:

Computer Software
- The instructions that the computer follows to do a task, such as opening a game.
These instructions are also called programs.
Examples:

Activity 1:
DIRECTIONS: Write H for Hardware and S for Software in the given box.
Topic 3: Tools that Feed Computer
Lesson Objectives:
- Identify the common input devices and the functions of each

Input Device
- Data is fed into a computer through hardware
- These turn data into something the computer can understand and use.

Different Input Device

KEYBOARD
- Used to type information

MOUSE
- Is a handheld device connected to the computer.
- CURSOR the pointing arrow

SCANNER
- Is a device that copies images or text, and send these to the computer.

GAME PAD
- Is a device used for playing computer games.
- it helps control actions of a game.
DIGITAL CAMERA
- takes photographs like a film camera

GRAPHICS TABLET
- is an electronic pad used for writing and drawing.
