Learning Task 5 – Abstraction

 Circle – A circle is the set of all points on a (Students are all listening)
plane at a constant distance from a fixed point
called the center. A circle is denoted by its
center with the symbol ○.

 This is read as “Circle P”

 There are many lines and line segments that

are related to a circle. Let’s define all the (Students are all listening)
term first.

 DIAMETER – a chord that passes through

the center of the circle.

 SEMICIRCLE – An arc that is half a circle.
