Ramirez 12 – STEM – Diligence

Reflection Paper

Choosing a career path is important, as it defines and decide what will be your future.
However, selecting your future career is also difficult, because are torn in choosing between
being practical and ambitious. Either you choose the later one or the other, you need to know,
that in choosing, choose what is best suited yourself.

Last Tuesday afternoon of September 29, the Palta National High School (PNHS)
conducted a Career Guidance for Senior High School students and to some Junior High School,
specifically the grade 10 students to be led by Mr. Alfred Padayao, a SHS adviser.

The program started with an opening remarks given by the guidance counselor of said
school, Mrs. Jecelyn Cabrera. Mr. Padayao invited four resource speakers to share their
experiences on how they’ve become successful in life. To begin with, Mr. Frank Turalde – a
teacher, gives an inspirational message. According to the story he shared, before he became a
teacher he experiences a lot struggles and challenges all throughout his journey. He said that he
has a list of ambition to achieve like being priest, architecture and engineer, but because of some
certain factors he can’t fulfill these dreams. In the end, he chose to become a teacher instead.
Through his journey to success he learned a lot of things in life. But the only thing that mark my
mind and learned from him, is that always be the best version of yourself and don’t lose hope in
God.

Furthermore, Mr. Geronimo Tabuzo, the second resource speaker, and also a respiratory
therapist and the owner of Car-Aide Shop and Repair, shared also his experiences throughout his
journey, the same with Mr. Turalde, a lot of difficulties in life he has face, but with hope in God,
believed in himself and perseverance, he become successful. To continue, the third resource
speaker, Mr. Joseph Allan Abundo an entrepreneur and the owner of the famous JaJa Bakery.
Like the first two speakers’ financial stability was one of the major problems he has face. But all
those challenges he has able to pass it.

As a SHS student, I learned a lot from those respective people. Like them I’m also
experiencing a lot of struggles, but with their quotes and advises as a guide I know that I can do
it until the end. I know that I can be a successful one someday.
