Spanish 1-3 Grades 10-12 Mariposa County High School Mariposa, CA 2017-2023
● Fostered a comfortable and safe environment for students to learn, make mistakes while trying, and
grow in their understanding of the language and culture
● Provided structure, high expectations, and engaging instruction, not once (as of my seventh year in the
profession) having to refer a student to administration for discipline
● Provided English Language Learners with leadership roles within the classroom, having them lead
activities and help their classmates with Spanish
● Used Canvas to organize all assignments and class expectations
● Added 100+ vocabulary and grammar sets in the target language to game platforms such as Gimkit,
Quizlet, and Blooket, so that students can experience gamified learning
● Created 60+ conversation starters (sets of 20 or more conversation questions) in the target language
that students use to record themselves having natural conversations in Spanish with their classmates
● Used Artificial Intelligence to foster TPRS (Teaching Proficiency Through Reading and Storytelling)

● Welcomed new students arriving at the school from other countries and other regions in California
