Re: Project Proposal
Community Expansion Program, 2nd Semester AY 2022-2023
Date: March 18, 2023
I, Gabrielle S. Tan, NSTP-CWTS Student of Don Honorio Ventura State University, along
with my members, Hanz Cruz, Angel Diwa, Maribeth Maningas and Jennalyn Tiqui, would
like to present a project proposal that will further help and encourage our municipality to be
physically active and fit. It will widen their perspective in terms of Physical Fitness for the
sake of their future. To lessen the cases of Physical Inactivity in this area, we would like to
conduct this program to help the community. The project is entitled “Step Up for Wellness:
Community Fitness Program and Seminar for Physical Fitness ”. This project was planned
to be held on April 21, 2023 at the Covered Court, Sta. Ana Elementary School, Sta. Lucia,
Sta. Ana Pampanga from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
In today’s society and generation, it is crucial that we know how to live our lives. We might
not know what would happen, you may not feel something as of the moment but that does
not mean you are healthy. Sedentary lifestyles have made significant contributions to
disorders of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, as well as obesity. Physical
inactivity has been demonstrated to decrease our strength, lead to low energy levels, and
promote obesity. So, it is imperative that we live physically active lives. The secret to living
a healthy life is to exercise frequently. Accordingly, in 2019, WHO found that the
Philippines had an overall “physical inactivity prevalence” of 93.4 percent.
A Sedentary lifestyle or physical inactivity is now being recognized as the fourth common
risk factor for mortality, accounting for an estimated 3.2 million deaths worldwide and
brought on by technological improvements. This issue has been taken for granted since
people have believed that if they don’t feel anything, they’re healthy. In this seminar,
Physical Fitness will be discussed as well as its factors, importance and benefits.
The main problem that arises with a Sedentary lifestyle in our country is the lack of
information and guidance about Physical fitness, influence of technology and social media,
instead of having to socialize and go out. Because of this, many are misguided with the
decisions they conclude.
That is why our project is entitled “Step Up for Wellness: Community Fitness Program and
Seminar for Physical Fitness” to show what can having a healthy lifestyle do to our lives,
we would also like to prevent deaths to further increase its rate. This project will be a
seminar and event (Zumba Marathon) that will only be held on one day (March 17, 2023),
with speakers that can give advice, counseling, and enlightenments that can open the minds
of the audience.
This project aids to:
● To introduce Zumba that will incorporate all levels of physical fitness.
● To reduce the risk of disease and illnesses.
● To increase the productivity of people in doing daily activities.
● To improve one’s mental, social, emotional and physical well-being.
● To help manage chronic health conditions and disabilities.
● To promote having a healthy lifestyle
This project is intended for residents of Sta. Ana, Pampanga, who are currently inactive in
exercising. This project will give information about Zumba that will help people to generate a
healthy lifestyle for their future and to prevent the increase of people with a sedentary life in our
society. Therefore, the project needs your involvement as well as the barangay officials of Sta.
Ana, Pampanga, Teenage volunteers.
