It has been thought that women are the second class in citizen, and men are the first. There is not a real equality of
opportunity for men and women. Years ago, people were living in a man-dominated society. Women had to obey

4. Can’t + have + Past Participle: dùng để chỉ một sự việc gần như chắc chắn không thể xảy ra. (đây là dạng
thức phủ định của “must have done”)
VD: Last night, Mary can’t have gone out with John because she had to be at home to do her homework.
5. Needn’t + have + P2: lẽ ra không cần
- Chỉ một việc không cần thiết phải làm trong QK nhưng người nói đã không biết và đã làm.
VD: You needn’t have washed all the dishes. We have a dishwasher. (Đáng ra cô không cần phải rửa hết đống bát
đĩa đó đâu. Chúng ta có máy rửa bát mà. - Sự kiện “rửa bát” đã được thực hiện rồi.)
Note: “Didn’t need to do”: diễn tả hành động không cần thiết phải làm, người nói đã biết ngay từ đầu và đã không
làm.
VD: I didn’t need to wait for her. She called to say that she couldn’t come. (Tôi đã không cần phải đợi cô ấy. Cô ấy
đã gọi báo rằng cô ấy không thể tới. - Sự kiện “đợi cô ấy” thực sự chưa xảy ra vì cô ấy đã báo rằng không thể tới
nên tôi không cần đợi nữa.)
