Biology Department, Penn State Altoona August 2016-June 2019
• Developed bacteria plating skills by testing the theory of natural selection on the organism
Escherichia coli by exposing it to the antibiotic ampicillin.
• Tested how temperature, pH levels, and substrate concentrations effect the reaction rate of
cellobiase.
• Observed the rate of photosynthesis by using leaf disks infiltrated with bicarbonate solution,
developing my skills of observation and handling of a microscope.
• Investigated the changes that plants go through at each stage of its life cycle including plant
movement in response to light, gravity and hormones.
