THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
PLT College (PLTC), Inc. is a private, non-sectarian school in Bayombong,
Nueva Vizcaya. It was founded in 1989 as the PLT Computer and Technical Services.
Later, when it was given government recognition, it was renamed to PLT Computer
Technical School; the school initially offered two-year computer courses. In 1992, the
school earned its college status and began offering associate and bachelor's degree
courses soon after. Just recently, in 2019, the College of Medicine in Bascaran,
Solano received its government permit to operate. PLT College and its programs are
duly acknowledged by the Commission and Higher Education (CHED) and the
Department of Education (DepEd). The school is also a member of the Philippine
Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU). Additionally, several programs of
PLTC, like Criminology, Nursing, and HRM, have accreditations from the Philippine
Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on
Accreditation (PACUCOA). The college currently offers undergraduate courses
under six units: Criminal Justice Education, Hospital and Tourism Management,
Information and Computer Sciences, Business Education, Health Sciences, and Arts,
Sciences and Education. Aside from college courses, PLTC also provides the K-12
program, with a Senior High School (SHS) department providing the Academic and
the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks. Additionally, the institution is
a TESDA Accredited Assessment Center, with available courses in Bread and Pastry
Production, Cookery, Food and Beverage Services, Housekeeping, and Caregiving.
The researchers a student of Bachelors of Science in Radiologic Technology at
PLT College Incorporated only focused on collecting and analyzing data of
Radiologic Technology graduates which is called a tracer study. Tracer studies are
sometimes called tracker studies or longitudinal studies. Within monitoring and
evaluation (M&E), tracer studies are mostly concerned with evaluation and/or impact
assessment. They are designed to find out what changed, when and why. Tracer
studies are often designed to track changes at an individual level, following a
development intervention. For example, a tracer study might be designed to track

individuals who have received vocational training in order to find out whether or how
they use the training, and how their lives progress over time. But tracer studies may
also focus on other units of analysis, such as households, communities, organizations,
projects or policies(INTRAC 1992. Tracer studies can give very important
information3 about skills matching trough the combination of objective and subjective
data from the graduates. Apart from being able to measure the employability of
graduates, and obtain feedback to improve the study programme, tracer studies allow
aspects of horizontal matching (relevance of field of study for the tasks done in the
job) and vertical matching (appropriate position regarding the level of formal
qualification) to be measured. Tracer studies are flexible tools that allow tthe
combination of a core questionnaire, where key elements are systematically asked,
with ad hoc modules that allow information on aspects that are important at one point
in time, or that are important for concrete institutions (or fields of study) to be
gathered. The table show some of the modules with the minimum number of
questions that could shape a tracer study(europa.eu)
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to provide information that traces the professional and
personal whereabouts of Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology graduates of
PLT College Inc. from 2018 - 2022 to be able to understand and develop appropriate
inputs in curriculum and instruction tailored. Specifically, this study
1. Describe graduates in terms of

2. To determine the graduates’ professional skills, professional examinations passed
and reasons for taking the course.
3. To determine the trainings and advance studies attended by the graduates after
finishing college.
4. Determine the industry classification of the companies where they are employed,
job position, monthly salary range, job requirements and the waiting time before they
landed on the job.
5. To draw employment of the graduates in terms of

5.2 reasons for unemployment (if unemployed),
5.3 employer,
5.4 type of work in the first job,
5.5 classification of employer,
5.6 job-waiting time,
5.7 length of working experience in the first job,
5.8 Reasons for Staying on the First Job,
5.9 method of finding the first job,
5.10 relevance of radiologic technology degree to the first job,
5.11 Other Qualifications (other than radiologic technology competence) of
radiologic technology graduates from PLT to be able to land in a job after graduation
Signifance of the study
This tracer study may serve as a basis data for the Radiologic Technology
department on their graduates. The findings of this study are expected to be useful on
the following:
Radiologic Technology Students. They are the one who are gaining
knowledge and experience inside the hospital. The findings of the study may serve as
their basis on improving their way of learning and adapting inside the hospital and
also improve their employability after passing the board examination.

Instructors or Faculty Members. Some of their job is to guide, teach, and
improve employability of students also to make the students to become competent on
their chosen carprevious students or graduates of the Bachelor of Science in
Radiologic Technology.
School Administration. This study could somehow help them on improving
the offered course by determining the suitable approach for the possible result of the
study.
Future Researchers. Findings of this study may encourage the future
researchers to conduct the same study to upgrade the quality of this study. This could
also beneficial to other researchers by providing relevant information about the study.

Scope and Limitation of the study
This study aims will cover the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology
graduates whether working abroad or in locally-based companies who graduated from
S.Y. 2018-2022 only to allow the graduates enough time to find employment. It aims
to cover the graduates in local residence and those who are residing abroad. This
study will be conducted at PLT College Inc. Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya with the
cooperation of the students of school year of 2018-2022 who are an alumni. We
gathered the data that we needed in this study through questionnaire.
Definition of Terms
For better understanding of the study, the researchers will give a several terms
that will be defined operationally.
Tracer studies- it is referred to as follow-up research because it locates people after
an event and keeps track of what has happened in their lives since then.
General Profile- it refers to the graduate's personal information, including
information on their sex, civil status, highest level of education, post-college training
