Backlash Inspection

This document provides instructions for inspecting and adjusting the motor backslash on a cutting unit. It describes how to use a control instrument to measure the backslash between the motor gear and driving gear at 8 points spaced 135 degrees apart. The mean value of the measurements should not exceed 0.1 mm, with a 0.04 mm tolerance. Diagrams show how the roller fixing screws, adjusting block, and blade holder determine the 8 check points for measurement.

2. Place the comparator steadily (A) and so that the read is performed on
the support surface of the supplied instrument.
3. reset the comparator and measure the backslash between motor gear
and driving gear, moving the motor shaft by hand.

NOTE: grip the adjusting sleeve firmly and move it without making your
hand slide on the grip.

The read should be repeated on 8 points at an angular distance of 135° and the
mean value of the measures taken should not exceed 0.1 mm. A tolerance of
0.04 mm around such value is allowed.

The arrangement of the roller fixing screws (A), of the adjusting block (B) and of
the blade holder is such as to determine the 8 check points during rotation. Fix
a point on the side (C) and move the roller on the check points, using a 17 bush
wrench.
