1. Presentation
Class, our lesson for this morning is
all about recognized ½ of a whole.
What is recognized ½ of a whole?
Each of the two equal parts is called
half of the whole. Similarly, each as
the half fraction as a part of a whole.
( the learners will read the definition Each of the two equal parts is called half
of recognized ½ of a whole) of the whole. Similarly, each as the half
fraction as a part of a whole
How will I divide this square if I want
   to have two equal parts?
I fold into two (2) equal parts please
   observe.
How many equal parts are there?
There are 2 equal parts, teacher!
   Very good!
Please count each part of the
   square.
How many parts of the square?
There are four (4) parts, teacher
This part is 1 of 2 equal parts or one
   half of the square.
   =1/2 1 of the 2 equal part
                2 equal parts
   This is a fraction.
   Do you understand class?
2. Activities
   Let’s have an activities
    a. Activity A
       Direction: Color half of the
following shapes and write ½ on
       the other part.
    b. Activity B
       Direction: Draw different shapes
of objects. Divide them into 2
equal parts, shade one part, and
then write ½ on the other part.
Encircle the shapes that is divide
        into equal parts.
         1)
   2)
    3)
    4)
    5)
3. Generalization
What do you call one part of a whole
if the whole is divide into 2 equal
   parts?
    Very Good!
If a whole is divide into 2 equal
parts, one part is called one-half
     (1/2).
Half of the whole or one-half
C. Application
   Let’s have a group activity
Class I will group you into two (2)
groups. Each group will be given an
activity sheets. I will give you 5
minutes to answer the activity. Your
leader will be the one to present in

                                         S-silence
Direction: I will give you a paper and
cut the paper different shapes, and
fold into 2 equal parts.
    Group 2
    Direction: explain the work of
    group 1
( each leader present your work
    to the front)
    Are you done?
                                         Yes, teacher!
