Love and Melodies

The Everlasting Beauty of Love

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
But thy eternal beauty must not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
The Fickle Nature of Love

Oh love, how fickle and unfair you are

To bring me joy and then forsake my heart.
You lift me up to dizzying heights of bliss,
Then leave me to descend into the abyss.
Your eyes are shining stars that light my way,
But with a single glance you turn away.
Your love is like a rose with thorns so sharp,
It wounds my soul and leaves my heart to scar.
You play with me as if I'm just a toy,
But I'll keep loving you, oh love, my joy.
The Nightingale’s Song

Ode to the nightingale, sweet songstress of the trees,

Whose melodies bring peace to troubled minds.
You sing of love and loss, of joy and grief,
Your voice a soothing balm that heals all wounds.
In darkest hours, you lift my spirits high,
Your notes a beacon in the endless night.
O nightingale, you bring such sweet delight,
Your song a source of comfort and delight.
