The document provides information on activity-centered and child-centered curricula. It includes: 1) A Venn diagram comparing the two curricula, noting both focus on considering students' needs, interests, and abilities, and providing quality instruction. 2) Details on each approach, such as activity-centered emphasizing skills and knowledge through tasks, while child-centered empowers student control and innovation. 3) A reflection stating both curricula positively impact learning if used appropriately.

REFLECTION!

I gained more awareness of the differences and similarities between activity-

centered and child-centered curricula as a result of the work comparing the two,
including how to tell whether a teacher is using an activity-centered or child-centered
approach to instruction. Here, I’ve explained how the two differ precisely, why they’re
employed, and how they affect the teaching-learning process. Although their use
structures are different, they are both significant and have a significant positive impact
on students’ learning. It aids in the development of attributes that will aid in a student’s
success as well as the ability of teachers to be effective teachers and students to be
intelligent in more ways than just knowledge.

ASSESS: State your insight on how learning physical education and health can be more
effective in the activity-and child-centered curriculum. Justify your answer based on the
lesson discussed.

I think learning physical education and health can be more effective in activity-
and child-centered curriculum because…..

I believe that learning physical education and health is more effective when it is
integrated into an activity- and child-centered curriculum because these two curricula
guarantee the availability of optimal learning and provide instructional strategies that will
benefit all students. This allows each student to learn something new and complete an
activity while taking into account their interests and abilities. Students engage in
experiential learning and learning by doing ensuring active participation because they
are interested in the instructional strategy. We can honestly state that each of the two
curricula presented achieves the objectives that a student must be able to show and
develop in. It helps pupils develop the skills they will need as they get older, in addition
to helping them study physical education and health. They are already learning at a
young age what they need to know to be successful in the future.

CHALLENGE: What do you think are the benefits of using activity and child-centered
curriculum to elementary pupils when learning about physical education and health?

The elementary pupils benefit from the activity and child-centered curriculum because
of
Since it has been established that primary students are more active in physical
education than in health, these two curricula will enable them to take a more active role
in their education, which will benefit the elementary students. This enhances the
determination and excitement of each student because the tasks they are required to
complete and the teaching approach of their teacher is what stimulates their curiosity to
discover the end of their studies. Because they can make use of their capacity for
learning, their minds are stimulated or motivated.
HARNESS: What could be the disadvantages if the teacher failed to perform instruction
based on activity and child-centered curriculum? Differentiate traditional curriculum
from the progressive curriculum.

The new pedagogical tendencies that result from technology and modern times
have taught us that the traditional curriculum or teacher-centered curriculum is no
longer effective in our time. We might argue that a teacher has used traditional teaching
methods if they neglect to carry out instruction that is based on an activity- and child-
centered curriculum. The instructor becomes the focal point of the curriculum in
traditional teaching, and only spoon-feeding takes place because the teacher only
teaches. In this setting, meaningful learning does not occur or students lack experiential
learning. Students are not taught much about the technological realities of the world or
the abilities they need to develop to be a productive individual when activity and child-
centered curricula are not integrated. Because they know it will be dull and uninteresting
and the individualized learning experience won’t be provided, they feel unmotivated and
uncertain to learn.
