1.3 Activity I: Helping Local Schools to Achieve Good Result and Enhance their
Enrolment in Higher/ Technical/ Vocational Education
With nearly a quarter of India's population being in the age of attending school and college,
whether our demographic situation is an asset for our country or not depends on the quality of their
learning Knowledge, skills and expertise are the key enablers for maintaining our economic
growth momentum, especially in a scenario of technology-led disruptions like Industry 4.0, where
skills and expertise requirements are ever-changing. Today, it is very difficult to predict over half
the expertise and skill sets which will be required in the next 5 years. The concept of lifelong
learning will have to be embedded in the way we teach our youth. Over the years, through various
initiatives, educational institutions have been made accessible to all across the country.
Teachers are key in ensuring that students get the requisite lessons that keep their minds
ignited for seeking knowledge. Students' likes and dislikes for attending classes, or interests in a
particular subject, can be linked to their teacher and his/her quality of teaching. The challenge of
improving quality of teaching by training teachers and supporting them with modern teaching aids,
tools and methodologies like smart classrooms and digital course content needs to be taken up, so
that teachers take pride in their jobs. This will also encourage more people to take up teaching as
a vocation, thus assisting in solving the vacancy of seats issue.

Government High School in Doddakannelli, Bangalore is a top player in the category Schools in
the Bangalore. This well-known school is one of the good government schools. Over the course of
its journey, this has established a firm foothold in its industry.

Vision Statement
Within an empowering, secure, holistic child-centric environment through numerous learning
opportunities and best teaching practices, we strive to inspire and emancipate the curiosity of a
child and develop socially responsible, independent, knowledgeable, lifelong learners and leaders,
with multi-dimensional skills, values and integrity to positively impact, excel in their passion and
contribute as global citizens to their highest potential.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to create a school system that is built on sound fundamentals. The intent is to
strive towards excellence by responding to changing needs and expectations of the digital global
community. The focus is to design a curriculum that encompasses the brilliance of academics, skill
training and values to enhance intellectual competence, dynamism, versatility and character.
Pathshala’s educational philosophy asserts that students learn best when they are actively involved
in their education, when they become responsible for their growth as students, when they are
expected to work at the highest level of which they are capable, and when their learning is based
on life experiences. Children and young adults learn in developmental stages, Pathshala aims to
have each student satisfactorily complete each stage before moving on. The educational program at
Pathshala incorporates all aspects of human development, intellectual, social, physical, aesthetic,
moral and strives to integrate learning by guiding students to be curious about all that the world
has to offer. Anjanas build skills in mathematics, reading, writing, and critical thinking, while
developing an appreciation for the arts, humanities, and sciences. Students develop a strong sense
of themselves as individuals and as members of a close community. At Pathshala students and
teachers know one another well. Frequent group work in classes enables students to teach and
learn from one another. All students experience working individually, in small groups, and as a
whole class. This close community allows teachers to create developmentally appropriate and
interdisciplinary curricula.
Digital payments are transactions that take place via digital or online modes, with no physical
exchange of money involved. This means that both parties, the payer and the payee, use electronic
mediums to exchange money.
The Government of India has been undertaking several measures to promote and encourage
digital payments in the country. As part of the ‘Digital India’ campaign, the government has an
aim to create a ‘digitally empowered’ economy that is ‘Faceless, Paperless, Cashless’. There are
various types and methods of digital payments. After the launch of Cashless India, we currently
have ten methods of digital payment available in India. Some methods have been in use for more
than a decade, some have become popular recently, and others are relatively new.

1.5.1 Place 1: Perumal Temple
10
Fig. 1.5 shows Perumal Temple is Vishnu god and the temple constructed in the Dravidian
style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil
canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th -9th centuries AD. It is one of the 108 Divyadesam
dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Neelamegha Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as
Tirukkannapura Nayagi. As per Hindu legend, the presiding deity is believed to have appeared
with a wig to save a devotee, leading to the name Saurirajan. Thirukkannapuram literally means
City of Kannan.
The presiding Lord of the Thirukkannapuram temple is Sauriraja. The Sanskrit word saura means
‘hero’ or ‘heroic’. Sauri also means the locks of hair. Therefore, Sauriraja stands for a heroic king
or the Lord whose locks of hair are beautiful. The mulabera in the sanctum sanctorum stands
facing the east. He is in sthanaka (T. ninra kolam). The Goddess of the temple is called
Kannapuranayaki. The vimana is of the utphalavadaka variety. The tank is called nityapuskarini.
Sage Kanva and Garuda are believed to have rendered services to the Lord. The following hymns
of the Alvar extol the praise of the Lord: Nammalvar's Tiruvaymoli, Kulacekarar's Perumal
Tirumoli, Periyalvar's Tirumoli, Antal's Nacciyar Tirumoli, Tirumankai's Periya Tirumoli,
Ciriyatirumatal, Periyatirumatal and Tirunetntantakam. Thirukkannapuram is the only place that
11
has been extolled in about 128 hymns of the Alvars. Literature is mainly the hymns of the Alvars
from Kulasekara to Tirumankai. Inscriptional sources date since the time of Rajaraja I. Kulasekara
Alvar is to talk about the ksetra. He has 11 hymns in the Perumal Tirumoli. He was born in the
womb of the world-famous Koala (wife of Dasaratha). He reached Cempon having wrecked the
crowns of the King of southern Lanka. You are the eye's black pupil, the Lord of
Thirukkannapuram is surrounded by forts. Nammalvar, next to Tirumankai, has contributed the
maximum number of hymns. His contributions are Tiruvaymoli, Tiruviruttam, Tiruvaciriyam and
Periva Tiruvantati. Forts surround Thirukkannapuram. There the Lord is resting on the leaf.
Tirumoli of Periyalvar has exalted the Lord at Thirukkannapuram. You offer blessings to all those
men and women that have had your Darsana. You are the Lord of Kurunkut, Vellarai and
Colaimalai. You are the honey of fortified Thirukkannapuram. My Lord dances the Cenkirai type
of dance. Lord of the seven worlds do dance and dance. Vishnu like Siva is a great dancer and
Nataraja. The Nacciyeir Tirumoli of Antal talks of Vamana who is pleased to occupy happily
Venkatam in the forest and Kannapuranakar. Come running, take my hand, unite with me and
dance and dance with me. Antal's supplication in the Nacciyar Tirumoli is full erotic appeals.
Tirumankai Alvar has 100 hymns on Thirukkannapuram that appears in the Periya Tirumoli as
follows. The cakra resembles the bow and the sankha powerful missile. He holds the powerful
dhanus in a hand. The other hand holds the warlike disc. He stands as the garbhagrha (karuvaraipol
ninran) who is the Lord of Thirukkannapuram. The holy basil appears on his long crown. He wears
the shilling makarakundalas. He wears the golden necklace, studded with gems.
Thirukkannapuram temple has been celebrating the four ayanas of the year and festivals during the
Tamil months of Aippaci (October-November), Cittirai (April-May) and Maci (February-March).
The record reveals the fact that Utkrsta-ayogana or Pattanavar were weavers who supply cloth to
the gods, kings and peoples.

TASK PERFORMANCE
2.1 Activity I: Helping Local Schools to Achieve Good Result and Enhance their
Enrolment in Higher/ Technical/ Vocational Education
Table 2.1 below shows the details of the first activity performed with date and premises.
AICTE Helping local schools to achieve good result and enhance their
Activity - I enrolment in Higher/ Technical/ Vocational education
about the JEE Exam. It stands for joint entrance exam. it is an engineering entrance assessment
conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is constituted by two different
examinations first is the JEE main and the second is JEE advanced. Then I inform them the
syllabus and the criteria of JE Exam. Students should have passed the 12th class. Students can
appear in the JEE Main exam for three consecutive years. The entrance test is expected to be
conducted in two attempts (June and July).
Fig. 2.1 shows that I give them information about NEET UG it is a single entrance test for
admission to more than 66000 MBBS and BDS seats across India. the Neet exam total marks is
720 where 360 marks are from Biology 180 marks are from physics and 180 marks are from
Chemistry. Then I give them information about the passing marks in NEET for general category it
is 50% for OBC category it is 45% and for SC and ST category it is 40%. Along with this I give
them information about some government jobs. In between I made them perform lot of activities
so that they will not get bored. Extra-curricular activities are also a key component in sustaining a
youngster's interest at school. Schools should have requisite sporting facilities and avenues for
cultural events, which together contribute to building a student's life skills and personality. Then at
last I asked them what other things they wanted to know. At last, I asked them to write feedback
about this session or in future do they want this type of activities or how much this activity is
16
17
Fig. 2.3 shows me teaching the students about higher studies. In spite of increasing number of
students coming for higher studies, there is increasing gap in the demand and supply of quality
students coming into academics. Motivation is defined as the process that initiates, guides and
maintains goal-oriented behaviour. My main motive for this activity is to motive student to study
and grasp complete knowledge about subject.
Motivation is what causes us to act, whether it is getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or
reading a book to gain knowledge. It is one of the most difficult aspects of becoming a motivator
18
and it is a learning how to motivate your students. It is also one of the most important. Students
who are not motivated will not learn effectively.
They won’t retain information, they won’t participate and some of them may even become
disruptive. A student may be unmotivated for a variety of reasons, they may feel that they have no
interest in the subject, It may even come to light that a student who appeared unmotivated actually
has difficulty learning and is in need of attention.
19
Fig 2.6 shows us with the kids. They had a great time and enjoyed very much.

I started my activity with street small shops and I explain them about digital payment like it is a
way of payment which is made through digital modes. In digital payments, payer and payee both
use digital modes to send and receive money. It is also called electronic payment. No hard cash
(currency notes) is involved in the digital payments.
21
All the transactions in digital payments are completed through online. It is an instant and
convenient way to make payments. I explained them about Currently available digital payment
systems include Banking cards, Digital wallets, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), Unstructured
Supplementary Service Data (USSD), Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), Real Time Gross
Settlement (RTGS), National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT), Aadhar Enabled Payment System
(AEPS) and Mobile banking. With recent advances technologies, digital payments are having an
impact on our daily lives and beginning to offer interesting and advantageous new services.
Fig. 2.7 shows that i explained them that RBI Bulletin cashless transaction in India increasing
day by day. Cashless payments eliminate several business risks such as theft of cash, counterfeiting
money, and robbery of cash. Moreover, it also reduces costs of security, and it allows you to buy
whatever you want and whenever you want without the need of withdrawing cash.
2.2.2 Chikkakanahalli
In chikkakanahalli I explain people about Internet banking, and it is also known as online banking,
e-banking or virtual banking, is an electronic payment system that enables customers of a bank or
other financial institution to conduct a range of financial transactions through the financial
institution's website.

be achieved through awareness campaigns, education, and provision of basic facilities such as
toilets, handwashing stations, and waste disposal systems. Implementing these measures can help
prevent illnesses, improve overall health, and reduce the burden of healthcare costs. Moreover, a
clean and hygienic environment can enhance the quality of life and promote economic growth by
attracting tourism and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Therefore, it is important to
prioritize cleanliness and hygiene in rural areas to promote health and well-being, environmental
sustainability, and economic growth.

CONCLUSION
4.1 Activity I: Helping Local Schools to Achieve Good Result and Enhance their
Enrolment in Higher/ Technical/ Vocational Education
None of the young people thought that schools currently provide sufficient careers guidance and
advice. It was agreed that careers education should be in the curriculum and that steps should be
taken to avoid the varying practice across different schools and enhance the consistency of
provision. Both quality and quantity of careers advice and guidance were seen as important. The
VTU decision to provide chance for careers guidance to school students is so useful. Independent
careers advice and guidance has never been as important as it is now.

It is everybody’s responsibility and one should keep themselves and their surroundings clean
and hygienic. It also brings good and positive thoughts in the mind which slows down the
occurrence of diseases. By AICTC activity we promoted swachh bharat mission. Mass awareness
created with Various slogan: “ham sb ka aek nara- saaf sutra des hamara, sathi re hath batana-
