created by outstanding American playwrights.
The desire of Zenaida Amador, a theater director to showcase top performances from
Broadway and London's West End in front of Filipino audiences was fulfilled by
Repertory Philippines in 1967. In order to produce and stage exceptional productions, she
founded a theater company in the Philippines.
A company that stages English-language plays and musicals the entire year was
established by Amador together with actress Baby Barredo under the name Repertory
Philippines.
Starting out as a child lead actor in productions of Repertory Philippines, Lea Salonga is

existed a theater group from Philippines and a trend towards creating original musicals
which espoused strong values oriented towards children and their families emerged

Monique Wilson founded New Voice Company back in 1994 and it has since played a
unique role in the Philippine theater scene, while The Philippine Opera Company (POC)

Karla Gutierrez as its artistic directress.

during this era.

garnered interest from audiences across multiple backgrounds.
