Abbreviations
Slst – slip stitch
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet
Htr – half treble crochet
Dc popcorn – make 5 dc in the same stitch, pull up a loop in the last
stitch and remove your hook. Insert the hook into the first dc of the
popcorn and put the loop you pulled up from the last dc back on the hook
and pull it through the stitch
Tr popcorn – make 5 tr in the same stitch, pull up a loop in the last stitch and remove your hook.
Insert the hook into the first tr of the popcorn and put the loop you pulled up from the last tr back on
the hook and pull it through the stitch
Inc – increase – two double crochets in one stitch
Inv dec – invisible decrease – insert the hook into the front loop of the first stitch then into the
front loop of the second stitch. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through two loops
BLO – back loop only
Third loop – this in the loop located on the back of a htr

Method
Using your 3mm hook and White make a Magic Ring
Round 1: 6dc in the ring (6)
Round 2: inc in each stitch around (12)
Round 3: dc, inc. Repeat around (18)
Round 4: dc x2, inc. Repeat around (24)
Round 5: dc x3, inc. Repeat around (30)
Round 6: dc x4, inc. Repeat around (36)
Round 7: dc x5, inc. Repeat around (42)
Round 8: dc x6, inc. Repeat around (48)
Round 9: dc x7, inc. Repeat around (54)
Round 10-12: dc in each stitch around (54)
Round 13: dc in the next 26 sts, change to Red, Peach or Light Blue, tr popcorn in the 27th st,
change back to White and dc in the next 27 sts (53,1 tr popcorn)
Round 14-15: dc in each stitch around (54)
Round 16: dc in the next 20 sts change to Grey, Grey or Black, dc popcorn, change back to White,
dc in the next 11sts, change to Grey, Grey or Black, dc popcorn, change back to White, dc in the
remaining 21 sts (52, 2 dc popcorns)
Round 17: dc x7, inv dec. Repeat around (48)
Round 18: dc x6, inv dec. Repeat around (42)
Round 19: dc x5, inv dec. Repeat around (36)
Round 20: dc x4, inv dec. Repeat around (30)
Begin stuffing your bauble, adding a little more stuffing after each round
Round 21: dc x3, inv dec. Repeat around (24)
Round 22: dc x2, inv dec. Repeat around (18)
Round 23: dc, inv dec. Repeat around (12)
Round 24: inv dec around (6)
Fasten off yarn, finish stuffing before sewing the end closed
Hat
Using Brown, Mint Green or Purple make a Magic Ring
Round 1: 6dc in the ring (6)
Round 2: inc in each stitch around (12)

Round 4: dc x2, inc. Repeat around (24)
Round 5: dc x3, inc. Repeat around (30)

Slst in the next st and fasten off leaving a long tail to sew hat to bauble
Sew the hat at an angle on top of of the bauble using the photo as a guide

Using White
Join your yarn to the top of your bauble, chain 30 then fasten to make a loop
