Winch Inspections
The following items are to be inspected on a daily basis or for
less active winches, prior to its use. Additional daily or monthly
checks may be required based on the type of winch and its use.

Daily Inspections

• All control mechanisms for adjustment and wear.


• Control mechanisms, responsiveness and labeling
• All winch functions for proper operation.
• All safety devices.
• Hydraulic system leaks and spills
• Wire or rope condition, and termination device
• Fluid levels (oil, fuel, coolant, hydraulics)
• Lubrication of bearing surfaces
