Job Description
DESCRIPTION
The individual occupying the position of MEP Engineer is responsible for planning and
designing policies, standards, inspection procedures, and evaluation tools for MEP concerns
along with preparing, reviewing drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for the
Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• monitor procurement and delivery of MEP equipment / materials
• identify and record variations
• inform PM on any variations with time and cost implications immediately
• attend client, consultants and sub-con meetings (take minutes of meetings)
• update MEP works progress promptly
• liaise with relevant authorities on turn on (Electrical, Water)
• lead site coordination and execution relating to mechanical, electrical and plumbing
(MEP) matters of the project
• overall responsible for all the MEP works installation and progress of work to meet
contractual and specifications requirements
• in charge for submission of shop drawing / materials details / MOS related to MEP works
• to maintain drawing registry and ensure latest drawings are available for all parties
involved (site staff, suppliers and subcontractors)
• to study drawings / specifications and check for discrepancies
• ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and design
• planning and coordination with sub-contractors, suppliers, in developing programs /
micro schedule for MEP installation
• manage subcontractors well to ensure quality of work and scope of work as per
drawings, specifications and design
• identify and resolve any site issues on the work site
• upkeep all submission, response for the submission and approval. Monitor the status of
the submission and pursue response from the relevant parties once the response is due
• responsible for all MEP inspection activities on site
• conduct pre-inspection with subcontractors prior to calling for inspections
• coordinate the MEP works with other disciplines
• liaise with sub-contractors, suppliers, testing labs
• coordinate and monitor material and system testing; establish and implement in-process
quality control measures for MEP works
• conduct site inspections, regular site walks with contractors to ensure acceptable quality
of installations

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering /Mechanical Engineering.


• DEWA certification
• Specialist Diploma in M&E Coordination will be an advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a site engineer
• Able to manage group of site supervisors
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD.
• UAE Driving License will be an advantage

• The MEP Engineer will report to the Project Manager
WORKING CONDITIONS
• This is a full-time position having the working hours from 08:00am to 05:00pm from
Monday to Friday and on Saturday from 08:00am to 1:00pm, or as required by the
project.
