NURSING EMPOWERMENT

 Empowered to start oxygen administration in case of SpO 2 is <85%


 Empowered to do cold sponging in case of hyperpyrexia & high grade fever.
 Empowered to change dressing in case of wet/soiled dressing.
 Nurses perform the triaging independently and inform the outcome of the assessment as
required.
 Nurse initiate Code Blue Response based on the patient condition by her independent clinical
judgment.
 Nurses are empowered to be trainers for national and internal workshops and conferences
based on their skill and competency
 Nurse are empowered by deputing for external training, speciality trainings etc
 Nurses ensure safety of patient by ensuring use of hand rub by all the health care providers
coming in contact with the patient.
 Nurse makes an announcement in regard to various hospital codes as per the need of the hour.
 Nurses are empowered and motivated to report medication errors and ADRs.
 Empowered to raise any safety related incidents
 Empowered to observe and report infection control practices for all health care workers.
 Nurses are involve in various hospital committees and meetings where they are given
opportunity to be part of decision making
 Nurses are empowered to raise their opinion for their unit improvement and over all
improvement of service
