Head and Body (beginning with the nose)

With Black

R1: MR sc 6

R2: sc 6 (6)

Change color to Beige, (I used half color changes for the next Round. Here you can,
for example, find a tutorial https://clubcrochet.com/crochet-stripes-perfectly-
amigurumi/).

R3: sc 6 (6) – (optional with half colour changes)

R4: inc x 3, sc 3 (9)

R5: [sc 1, inc] x 3, sc 3 (12)

R6: [sc 2, inc] x 3, sc 3 (15)

2
R7: sc 2, [inc, sc 4] x 2, inc, sc 2 (18)

R 8: sc 18 (18)

At this point I used the loose threads to stuff the nose.

R9: [sc 2, inc] x 6 (24)

R10: sc 5, [inc, sc 1] x 6, sc 7 (30)

R11: [ sc 4, inc] x 6 (36)

R12: sc 3, inc, [sc 5, inc] x 5, sc 2 (42)

R13: sc 14, [inc, sc 1] x 10, sc 8 (52)

Insert safety eyes between R10-11, 10-12 sts

apart. The eyes should be on level with the
first and the last increase in R13.

R14-20 (7 Rounds): sc 52 (52)

R21: sc 16, [inc, sc 7] x 4, sc 4 (56)

R22-24 (3 Rounds): sc 56 (56)

R25: sc 17, [inc, sc 8] x 4, sc 3 (60)

R26-37 (12 Rounds): sc 60 (60)

R38: [sc 8, dec] x 6 (54)

R39: [sc 7, dec] x 6 (48)

R40: [sc 6, dec] x 6 (42)

R41: [sc 5, dec] x 6 (36)

R42: [sc 4, dec] x 6 (30)

R43: [sc 3, dec] x 6 (24)

Stuff

R44: [sc 2, dec] x 6 (18)

R45: [sc 1, dec] x 6 (12)

Finish stuffing

R46: dec x 6 (6)

FO, use end to close the hole.

3
Ears (make 2)

With Beige

R1: MR sc 8

R2-4 (3 Rounds): sc 8 (8)

Chain 1, flatten opening and sc 4 through both

sides, FO and leave a tail for sewing on to the
head in R15.

Legs (make 4)

With Beige

R1: ch 4, starting in 2nd ch from hook, inc, sc 1, 3sc in next st, continue at the
opposite side of the chain, sc 2 (8)

R2-5 (4 Rounds): sc 8 (8)

R6: [dec, sc 2] x 2 (6)

R7-8 (2 Rounds): sc 6 (6)

FO and leave a tail for sewing on to the body.

With brown scrap, stitch 3 toes in the foot by coming up at R2 or 3 and down in the
same st on the bottom of the foot. Pull tightly to create toes.

Sew the feet to the body. I sewed mine in R19-21 and 32-34 as shown on the reference
picture below.

Spikes

With Brown

To give your Hedgehog its fluffy spikes attach scraps all over its back, the belly remains
free. I attached the spikes one Round before the ears and up to the height of the eyes.
Make less spikes at the beginning and complete at the end until you like the result. To
untie the knots in hindsight is a lot of work.

4
To attach all Spikes requires a little patience, but it's worth it to be thorough. If you want
to brush out the Spikes, please test the appearance of the brushed-out yarn before
attaching it to the body! I had the best results so far with synthetic yarn.

Attach a scrap of yarn by pulling it with your hook through a stich and tighten. Repeat
with every stich in the area of spikes. I prefer working in lines to keep track.

When you’re finished with the spikes it’s time to give the little guy a haircut. I cut the
spikes just about 20-25mm, around ears and belly a little bit shorter.

Brush out (optional)

When you are satisfied with the length

of the spikes you can brush them out
with your Wire Brush. Do not worry if
some material is torn out, that’s
completely normal.

Congratulations, you finished your own

Fluffy Hedgehog! I would be very
happy if you leave a picture of your
Hedgehog on Instagram or Ravelry.
