believe there is no substitute to hardwork. As the saying goes "Hardwork is the stepping stone to success".All the successful people in this world have achieved success through hardwork only.As Malcolm Gladwell quite aptly mentions in his book "Outliers" about the 10,000 hour rule which states that success in most of the fields depends upon enormous practice and effort. Our great former president Dr A P J Abdul kalam, has achieved all this success only through sheer hardwork. To support his studies,he started off as a newspaper vendor. Then later in his engineering education,he worked very hard and bagged scholarships which helped him fund his education.Even our Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was born in village without electricity studied in candlelight and still stood first throughout his academic career. All possible through hardwork. The life of Mr Narayan Murthy also establishes the importance of hardwork. From having slept at a railway station for 2 days without food to starting Infosys in a one room flat to taking Infosys to its current level is no mean task.Such a seemingly impossible task made possible only through hardwork. What else other than hardwork can be attributed to the success of Mr Sunil Mittal of Bhararti Airtel?Sunil Mittal started a small bicycle business in Ludhiana. From then on with his sheer hardwork,he moved on trying understanding various businesses and finally founded Airtel and made it a great success.Kesari Patil, the owner of Kesari Tours, started kesari Tours at the age of 50. Only through sheer determination and hardwork, was he able to take Kesari to new heights within a short time. All great sports persons have to practice a lot and only then are they able to maintain their performance. With all these examples before me,I truly believe that there is no substitute to hardwork.Only hardwork can change "IMPOSSIBLE" to "I AM POSSIBLE".The only shortcut to success is hardwork. So keep working hard and success will just be a step away!! What is global warming? Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earths atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many cannot take the change, so they die. What is the greenhouse effect? The greenhouse effect is when the temperature rises because the suns heat and light is trapped in the earths atmosphere. This is like when heat is trapped in a car. On a very hot day, the car gets hotter when it is out in the parking lot. This is because the heat and light from the sun can get into the car, by going through the windows, but it cant get back out. This is what the greenhouse effect does to the earth. The heat and light can get through the atmosphere, but it cant get out. As a result, the temperature rises. The suns heat can get into the car through the windows but is then trapped. This makes what ever the place might be, a greenhouse, a car, a building, or the earths atmosphere, hotter. This diagram shows the heat coming into a car as visible light (light you can see) and infrared light (heat). Once the light is inside the car, it is trapped and the heat builds up, just like it does in the earths atmosphere. Why Fast Food Is Bad: Fast Foods Bad For You Most fast food is bad for your health. Ground beef is okay to eat once in awhile in moderation, but I wouldnt make a habit of eating beef every day. Studies have proven that vegetarians and those people who only eat poultry, fish, and turkey, with small amounts of beef are healthier. They have lower cholesterol levels, less digestive disturbances, and way less colon cancer incidence. Fast Food Is Bad Because Its Unhealthy! Duh! Animal fat is what should be eaten in small quantities. Deep-fried foods like French fries, chicken nuggets, deep fried chicken and fish for sandwiches are all very bad on
the arteries. And what do most toddlers eat when they go out to fast food? Deep-fried chicken nuggets and deep-fried French fries. On top of all that, drinking sugary soda pop! Yikes! This is starting young people to adapt to these types of unhealthy foods and stick their noses up at healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. No wonder America is sick and obese! Although we all need fat to sustain the body, there is a big difference between good fats and bad fats. This is what you need to know. An adult only needs about 30 grams of good fat a day. But what is happening is they are getting way more than that every day from bad fats! This is another reason why fast food is bad. Importance of Time Management Time management is a set of principles, practices, skills, tools, and systems that help you use your time to accomplish what you want. Why Is Time Management Important? Here are the top reasons why time management is of great importance to your personal and career success: 1. Time is limited. Time is a very special resource in that you cannot store it or save it for later. Everyone gets the exact same amount of time each and every day. If you don't use your time wisely, you can never get it back. 2. Time is scarce. Most people feel like they have too much to do and not enough time. Lack of time is blamed for everything from not getting enough exercise, poor finances, unachieved goals, too much stress, bad relationships, and even an unfulfilled life. Time management helps you use the time that you do have in better ways. 3. You need time to get what you want out of life. You need time to do almost anything worthwhile in life. Waiting for more free time is a loosing game that almost never results in getting time for what you want. You need to learn how to make time for the things that are important to you. Even if you can only afford to give a small amount of time each week to your goals, you'd be surprised at how much progress you can make Should population be controlled in any way? The rate at which population of the world growing is alarming and to prevent a disaster from happening it needs to be controlled. Population basically is the total sum of individuals living in a particular area, country or the world as a whole and the exponential increase of the world population has lead to many problems leaving the leaders of the world scratching their heads on how to solve the problem. The change in population is dependent on three factors: birth, death and migration. The main factor of the rate of increase in the world population is by birth and it is very important we control this. Even though many country have try to limit their population growth by making law against giving birth to many children like china has made a policy of giving birth to one child only many developing and under developed country still face the problem of high birthrates. India and Kenya for instance faces a huge problem in this field. The birth rate is very high making the populations of the countries multiply. If this situation continues then not only the country but the whole world will face an immense problem.
On Painting and Photography It is easy to understand why the camera was considered to be a miracle of science when it was invented in early 1800s. Even though I understand the basic scientific principles involved, it is still like magic to me. That magic is partially responsible for the several cameras strewn around my house: antique cameras, medium format cameras, snapshot cameras, ludicrously complex uber cameras, cameras that make coffee etc and, God help me, now video cameras. The hell of it is I dont really take many pictures. My friend, Shaun Irving, made the coolest camera I have ever seen: using the lens from an old submarine periscope, he transformed a mail truck into a giant mobile pinhole camera. Heres a page that describes his project (click the buttons on the right side of the box.) Painting from photos has a stigma attached to it that arises from the fact that the painter is working from filtered or second-hand imagery (filtered by the lens, by the film or by the digital film) and because a picture flattens the world for him, which allows for a more easy translation onto canvas. The stigma is that working from photos is slightly unoriginal and a technical shortcut or visual crutch. Painting and photography have always had an uneasy relationship and that unease continues today. While there are some painters who will proudly tell you the model number of the projector they use, I suspect many more are not quite as forthcoming, or will at least downplay the degree of their dependence on the camera. An apple a day keeps the doctor away It isn't often that I get the opportunity to list Wales as the source of a commonplace English phrase. There's a fair chance that this little maxim originated there as the earliest known example of its use in print makes that claim. The February 1866 edition of Notes and Queries magazine includes this: "A Pembrokeshire proverb. Eat an apple on going to bed, And you'll keep the doctor from earning his bread." A number of variants of the rhyme were in circulation around the turn of the 20th century. In 1913, Elizabeth Wright recorded a Devonian dialect version and also first known record of the version we use now, in Rustic Speech and Folk-lore: "Ait a happle avore gwain to bed, An' you'll make the doctor beg his bread; or as the more popular version runs: An apple a day Keeps the doctor away." Apples have a good claim to promote health. They contain Vitamin C, which aid the immune system and phenols, which reduce cholesterol. They also reduce tooth decay by cleaning one's teeth and killing off bacteria. It has also been suggested by Cornell University researchers that the quercetin found in apples protects brain cells against neuro-degenerative disorders like Alzheimer's Disease. Apples may be good for us but it wasn't their precise medicinal properties that were being exalted when this phrase was coined. In Old English the word apple was used to describe any round fruit that grew on a tree. Adam and Eve's forbidden fruit, which they ate in the Garden of Eden, is often described as an apple but, in the 1611 King James Version of the Bible, it is just called 'a fruit'. .
